According to a story in the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns are considering moving Kenard Lang from DT/DE to outside linebacker.
Any team that can isolate a running back on Lang on a pass to the wide side of the field will gain a minimum of 25 yards on the run-after-the-catch!
Is he planning on dropping some weight??

Why do we even need to discuss this? :oink:

The only way this works is if he's the down lineman in a 3-4 scheme, which is quite possible with Crennel at the helm.

They'll use him as the rush linebacker in the 3-4, ala Willie McGinest. I think it's a good move, he's athletic and strong, he's very similar to McGinest actually.

This should be fun to watch.............seeing big ass Kenard cover a fast RB out of the back field. I think the Browns are stretching with this one. Bur Romeo is a great D coordinator. So who knows maybe he sees something we don't.

I remember Greg Williams dropping C. Griffith into pass coverage on occassion last year. So, stranger things have happened (and worked).

same as philly trying to make a linebacker out of kalu.... not gonna happen because he is not used to playing without a hand onthe ground. might seem like a small thing, but very few lineman make that transition well.
