As someone pointed out in a different thread, it appears we picked up Tommy Rees, Kevin Perry, Bryan Shepherd, Cody Hoffman, Mike Box, Quandon Christian, among others. Anyone know anything about these folks? Thoughts on what other teams have done are welcome too.

none of them have a chance to make the team.

Robert Thomas DT/NG Arkansas is by far the best signing

Notre Dame kid?

He's a bum...like the Arkansas DL though. We can always use more lineman

Cody Hoffman's a very good receiver. He broke pretty much every receiving record at BYU (my alma mater) playing with a few mediocre quarterbacks. He isn't an elite athlete, but he just makes plays. He's got good size and hands, but he needs to work a little on his routes and strength to gain more separation at the line and on his breaks. Good teammate and hard worker.

I think he'll probably at least make the practice squad and if he contributes on special teams, could be an eventual 4th or 5th receiver in a year. Won't be an immediate starter or anything, but he's exactly the type of guy you want signed as an UDFA.

Here's a good summary of him from a BYU football blog: 2014 NFL Draft: Cody Hoffman signs with the Washington Redskins - Vanquish The Foe (http://www.vanquishthefoe.com/2014/5/10/5701552/2014-nfl-draft-cody-hoffman-signs-with-byu-cougars-football-undrafted-)

Wow. Think I found my camp Marko Mitchell. Seems like Hoffman can ball

Hahaha. Marko was fun to root for. Not a bad comparison, talent-wise, and I wouldn't be surprised if Cody is edged out by the sheer number of receivers we have, also.

Marko was faster, but Cody is stronger and more of a possession receiver. If Hankerson doesn't come back strong, Cody would be a cheap option for a good-sized receiver at the bottom of the depth chart.

Pretty interesting if you ask me.

As per usual my reaction to the players signed is similar to that of Grandpa Dirtbag59 "whooooooooo (http://www.dolland.net/loveline/sound/drops/who.mp3)?"

apparently there are 29 UDFAs going to rookie mini-camp this week, some are signed, others are just given a try-out. Reportedly Cody Hoffman got a $7,500. signing bonus, which by NFL standards isn't much. However, for a UDFA it is a lot........ I think the team limit is about $8,000. per team
