Enjoy it while you can. Bishop Hammer 06-23-2014, 09:38 PM Am I the only one who doesn't hate this the idea of this kid coming here? Maybe because I don't watch college football and I've never heard of him until now but let's see how he does during the season. I mean honestly that's the only way to tell what a guys capable of doing. Bishop Hammer 06-23-2014, 09:47 PM I would like to say that it's not a foregone conclusion he is gone. I may have stated that too strong. They are, however, laying the groundwork to allow for that. I think Matty is correct that it gives them leverage or in the worst case scenario an option if he leaves. However, we have some guys coming up that will require big money. Alf Mo, RG3, and Jordan Reed will all likely require fairly hefty contracts. Not to mention Kerrigan on the defensive side. RG3 definitely, Morris for sure but Reed uh uh. He's only played one year and couldn't stay healthy in his lone season. Jordan has potential and I iiked what I saw but let's give him more than a year and see if he can stay healthy. For what its worth I'd rather have Orakpo than Kerrigan. I'm just not sold on #91. artmonkforhallofamein07 06-24-2014, 10:36 AM Kerrigan, Trent Williams, Rak, RG3, and AlfMo are our big contracts coming up in the next couple of years. SirLK26 06-24-2014, 12:29 PM Kerrigan, Trent Williams, Rak, RG3, and AlfMo are our big contracts coming up in the next couple of years. Wonder what Morris will ask, assuming he continues to put up 1000+ yard seasons. Maybe 6 mil? The others will be a real b**** to resign; maybe 10 for Kerrigan, 12 for Trent, 12-13 for Orakpo, and 20 for G3(using today's cap limit)? But who do you let walk out of that group? Griffin, Trent, and either Orakpo or Kerrigan are the must resigns. And you have to think about Reed's upcoming contract if he gets over the injury thing, plus Garcon's, Jackson's, and Hatcher's large contracts. Some of our best young draftees right now will be gone in 2 years, victims of cap restraints. Or not? Will we actually resign all those players? Just hand-wringing out loud... |
