Jacobs is my pick for a surprise/breakout player for 2005

I agree that he has the potential, but I dont see him getting the opportunity. He will be spot played most of the year I think. The WR competition is going to be intense this preseason. Basically every slot is up for grabs

I disagree, Skins. I see Jacobs becoming our #2. He's fast as hell, and has great hands. Gibbs has had nothing but praise for the guy, I really want to see what he can do, I doubt I'm alone. Right now we don't have any standout receivers to take his place.

i agree with tafkas and matty, but just a side note...

i feel like we're beating a dead horse here...just my two cents.

Dead Horse Walking! I also agree with Tafkas & Matty.

I defnitely think Jacobs has promise. He's definitely not a bruiser, but he IS fast as hell as Daseal said.

I like Jacobs for a big year. WRs frequently break out in their third year, and I like what I've seen/heard about him so far. I see McCants as a decent red zone threat, but probably not much else. Patten can stretch the field well. I guess my biggest issue with our WRs is I don't see a reliable 3rd down, go-to, possession receiver. Outside of McCants, we don't have anyone over 6 foot, 200 lbs.

I think it's odd that Gibbs hasn't (at least I don't think) mentioned having McCants in the game plan for next year.

I personally love to beat dead horses. I think the real decision will be made by Ramsey. Who will he have the best on field and off raport with. I like Jacobs chances based on last season, I would love to see both McCants and Jacobs out there.

I like Jacobs' chances too, but I also remember days when Ramsey and McCants hooking up often.

Jacobs!!! And remember it all starts with the running game. I think we'll have better production all around. Hopefully Portis can get up near that 5.5 avg again and everything else will take care of itself.

Exactly. And with that kind of production, we can have mediocre receivers look like Pro Bowlers.
