SirLK26 05-31-2014, 02:16 PM It amazes me that the fascination with this side-arm thrower with a candy-ass arm who never played the pro-game (but, hey, he had moxie!) continues to this day.
I liked the guy but he was a classic was-not-and-was-never-ever-(no, not ever!)-gonna- be.
Brennan had a good arm, as he showed all throughout his Hawaii career...and in the 2008 preseason with us, too. Injuries may or may not have derailed his career, but he did have a nice arm.
In my opinion, we would've been wiser to keep Brennan and pass on trading for Beck. Neither have did anything noteworthy after, but at least Brennan had more potential and star power.
In case any of you have ever wondered what the phrase "beating a dead horse" means, please see the above. :D

<sigh> He had adequate arm-strength ... and a ton of other short-comings, but whatever. It is clear the Cult of Colt may fade but it will never die.

Oh ye of little faith, apparently you have forgotten how he made Colts and Jets 5th-stringers look like hapless 6th-stringers! And he did this during garbage time in the fourth quarter of two preseason games, when the stakes could not be higher!
The Rainbow Savior will rise again to judge unbelievers like you and lead us to 8 straight Super Bowls.

WHAT a crock of Bull..... You know it was Joe that promised him a starter job and then ruined his confidence.........
Wait.....was that Pat..

lol ... it scares me how we think alike sometimes. Ramsey devotees had a similar shortsightedness about him.

Hey, I admit it ... I road the Colt train for a bit. He did have a certain charisma ... just not much else needed for the job.

LOL. His merely adequate arm-strength with (occasionally) outstanding accuracy was better than what Beck had to offer. And I remember John Madden gushing over a couple of Cult throws in one preseason game; not sure if it was a post-game analysis or what, but anyway, Madden was impressed.

Okay, this made me laugh.
Would have played Cult over Beck any day of any week in any year... Ever
I'd start Tony banks over john beck anytime. Beck and that whole circus really pissed me off... Sticking with Rex we may have won more games tho and NOT had the pick strength to land RG3 ... SO.. is what it is I guess?

Cult v. Beck? Of two barely adequate QB's, yes - I would too take Cult every time. That, however, is setting the bar pretty low.
Madden gushed over a mediocre player?? How could that happen?!? Why, he never said anything nice about anyone ever!!!!
Okay, this made me laugh.
Me too.
And with that, I am done talking about irrelevant washed up never been QB's. Let's get back on topic and back to relevance by talking about the third string safety that's been out of the league for two years and how he is key to our SB victory.
