The only way would be if the Skins front office had the foresight to draft Russell Wilson in 2012 which is a really far out 20/20 hindsight suggestion. When I look at the players for the Rams the RG3 picks turned into I'm tempted to say we got a steal. Regardless if Bradford continues to improve like he did last year before the injury then the trade really will end up as a win-win. I've kind of been saying it for years but as great as having multiple draft picks and building depth is, it means very little without a QB. Almost like getting a really nice car with a top of the line engine, paint job, stereo, interior, etc but not having a decent alternator and starter for it. Sure the car will be great when it runs but it could easily shut down at a moments notice. Or if you're into PC gaming like me its like getting a top of the line case, motherboard, CPU, cooling fans, 32 GB of ram, multiple high capacity SSD hard drives while getting a $100 graphics card then expecting to play Crysis 3 in 4k. calia 05-11-2014, 11:16 AM Tommy Rees, Kevin Perry, Bryan Shepherd, Cody Hoffman, Mike Box, Quandon Christian, among others Wasn't on nfl.com when I made my post. Anyone know anything about these guys? Dirtbag59 05-11-2014, 05:51 PM Did Miami Dolphins reach for Ja'Wuan James? - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/miami-dolphins/post/_/id/7228/did-dolphins-reach-for-jawuan-james) However, Hickey said James was the best available player on the Dolphins' draft board. (I have yet to see a general manager willing to admit the opposite.) James was a player Miami did extensive homework on and fits many of the characteristics the team is looking for. If Roger Goodell is going to fine players for, well anything then I request, NO DEMAND, that a new rule be instated. If a front office makes a day 1 or 2 draft pick that is widely considered a reach by fans and the media you can no longer just explain it as X was the best player on our board. You either admit you reached for said player or you show the 5 players before and after the guy you picked. If no list is provided or is doctored after the fact you will be required to give a one hour press conference while under the influence of sodium thiopental (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truth_serum) where no questions will be off limits. The only loophole will be you can use the BPA response if you donate a $100,000 to a charity like St. Judes. If fans are going to pay $1,500 for a beer and hot dog on game day then they have a right to know why their favorite team took Johnny Udefa Doe in the first round. #NobodyExpectsTheSpanishInquistion (http://youtu.be/7WJXHY2OXGE?t=29s) Report: A.J. McCarron rubbed teams the wrong way in interviews | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/10/report-a-j-mccarron-rubbed-teams-the-wrong-way-in-interviews/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs) I love watching morons like this fall like a ton of bricks. Put that ego in check. Only people probably telling him this load of crap are agents and tv analysts. I want to see the guy who told him he'd go as high as 16.....LOL Swagger generation. Seems like it's actually held against these kids if they decide to be humble. Look it takes all kinds. The league would probably be less interesting if everyone was humble but it's starting to get kind of ridiculous with the swagger. Oh and before I forget #YOLO skinsfan69 05-11-2014, 06:55 PM I wouldn't say this a bust as much as St.Louis making some great trades and picking up some studs. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/final-tally-robert-griffin-iii-135217176.html Rams are setting themselves up for long term success. This year will tell a lot about the trade. I still think the Skins paid too much. skinsfan69 05-11-2014, 07:02 PM Manziel still doesn't get it. Dirtbag59 05-11-2014, 07:33 PM Rams are setting themselves up for long term success. I would give them the edge on this trade. Agreed. I'd also like to say the same thing about the Texans. Whoever succeeds Bill O'Brien is going to have a lot of talent to work with :D Seriously though it kind of feels like the 49ers. They did an incredible job over the years under Nolan and Singletary creating one of the leagues best supporting cast, of course without a QB the best they could hope for was to grind out 9-7 seasons and squeeze into the playoffs where they were essentially a tune up game for any team with a QB. Then again you can't help but think if the Texans are employing the Shanahan method. If you don't love the incoming QB's get better up front, go into the season with Beck and Grossman [Fitzpatrick and Keenum] have a bad season, and then be in a position to draft someone like Luck or RG3 [Winston {SL FSU}or Marcus Mariota {QB Ore}] the following year. Really scared though about week 1. Honestly I would much rather have faced the Texans in week 12 or later....you know about the time rookies start to hit the wall since they're not use to a season length like that of the NFL. Posters Note: SL stands for Shoplifter. Does anyone really think Snyder penned the cease and desist letter and mailed it out himself? Maybe I'm overreacting but man I'm starting to get fed up with these pointless lawsuits. Honestly its stuff like this that makes people hate lawyers. Its why some kid posting a highlight film on YouTube has to worry about a record company putting in a copyright complaint to his highlight film. Or a group of gamers can't make a not for profit remake (http://www.ripten.com/2009/05/11/chrono-trigger-fan-mod-receives-cease-and-desist-letter-from-square-enix/) of one of their favorite childhood games in spite of the fact that the IP owners aren't doing anything with said IP. It doesn't matter if Lavar wants to market himself as the Greatest Redskin of all time and take credit for every Super Bowl the team has ever won. Its really not worth getting lawyers involved. I'm more then willing to give Snyder the benefit of the doubt on stuff like him not no longer meddling with football decisions but honestly this LaVar cease and desist deal reeks of the same old Snyder that 'encouraged' the Washington Post to stop using Redskins Insider and at least was somewhat responsible for the season ticket holders being sued for non-payment (not saying he set out to sue an old lady who was on the verge of bankruptcy but he did put himself in that position). In the end Snyder either needs to hire new lawyers because they're doing stuff without his approval or he needs to stop being trigger happy with the cease and desist stuff. Right now everything the team does is heavily scrutinized with the name controversy. Why the hell are you giving the media more then enough ammo to justify portraying you as the same old tyrant? And for Gods sake pay for the entire backhoe. Colbert Report on Redskins’ new foundation (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/wp/2014/03/27/colbert-report-on-redskins-new-foundation/) The Foundation also assisted in the purchase of a new backhoe for the Omaha tribe. That’s right, assisted. Because you can’t expect a team worth $1.7 billion to pay for the entire backhoe. Those things cost thousands. To cover that price, they’d have to sell a beer and a soft pretzel.” If anyone needs to send out a cease and desist letter its Drowning Pool. Serial, if I come across that song one more time my head is going to explode. Bodies (Drowning Pool song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodies_(Drowning_Pool_song)#Criticism_and_controve rsy) The song was used by interrogators at the Guantanamo Bay detention camps in 2003. "Bodies" was repeatedly played over a 10 day period during the torture of Mohamedou Ould Slahi while he was "exposed to variable lighting patterns" at the same time.[3][4] Now that's cruel and unusual punishment Paintrain 05-11-2014, 09:25 PM Rams are setting themselves up for long term success. I would give them the edge on this trade. Be honest though dude, you were perhaps the most outspoken on the board against the trade when it happened based on the cost so of course you're going to feel this way. Absent a Redskins Super Bowl win and a Ram collapse, you're not going to say otherwise. Anyone objective would say it's still far too early to fully judge the trade. All those first round picks and the Rams still haven't broken .500. We won the division & had a 3-13 season. Personally, I'll take the division title rather than a bunch of players. |
