"It's a players' team, so whatever we say goes, pretty much, if it's going in the right direction."
skinsfan69 05-02-2014, 12:57 PM It does not matter because he is that good. If he was on the bubble that would do him in. He is too good, shop lifting is not big enough to derail him.
Agreed. If he was in the draft this year he'd be the number one pick.
Gary84Clark 05-02-2014, 01:39 PM Dallas can get Manziel but they are gonna to have to do a rebuild. They have WRs that's it.

And a Hall of Fame TE, a stud(albeit old) QB, a stud LT, a soon-to-be stud C, and an 1100 yard rusher. That defense, though...

Not really a fan of the tone in this. But I guess we have to wait and see.
Hatcher was impressed with how things are done under new coach Jay Gruden. “They really take care of the veteran guys. They give us more say-so over the team. This is our team,” he said. “The head coach doesn’t want to be policing the team. This is our team, so when we set the foundation for this football team, the way it’s supposed to go, that’s the way it’s supposed to go, through the players and not the coaches. It’s a players team, so whatever we say goes, pretty much, if it’s going in the right direction.”
The first bold is worrisome, because I think we have seen in Miami and other cases where that does not work well. The second bold is the part I hope means that Gruden has given more guidelines than Hatcher seems to be implying.

I love it. Hatcher is already taking a leadership role.

Witten I don't count, he might have one more year.

Gruden doesn't strike me as a guy that will let the players run wild.
I think Hatcher is just seeing a more relaxed player focused atmosphere here vs Dallas, where I assume it's a super tight ship with Jerry looking over everyone's shoulder.

Yeah, I found those comments very interesting. But Hatcher makes it sound like someone in Dallas was running the team too closely, and this is a change he approves of. We'll see.
I wonder what all this veteran say-so entails. What does Hatcher mean when he says, "This is our team, so when we set the foundation for this football team that's the way it's supposed to go, through the players and not the coaches?"
