Eagle fans when Desean was released: 'Well none of his former teammates have spoken up for him. That's proof positive that the front office made the correct decision.'

The Eagles' fans are desperate. I think they all know deep down that cutting him was probably a bad idea, that this might be a bad sign about Kelly, and that us signing him might really hurt them. SO they are lashing out with hope that none of that is true. My feeling on it is that I don't expect this to be the greatest signing ever and I KNOW it hurt them. We've won already on the deal. Especially since they're all so butt-hurt about it.

I've been hesitant to post my "article" that I wrote on the Jackson signing in here, as it is chock full of errors since I threw it together in about an hour. But as this is my favorite Redskins forum, and I value your alls opinions here it is. Maybe you all can give me a bit of constructive criticism. One of my first articles ever, currently taking a couple journalism courses online to get better. Tell me what you all think.
The Washington Redskins - a Breakdown of the Desean Jackson Signing - Yahoo Voices - voices.yahoo.com (http://voices.yahoo.com/the-washington-redskins-breakdown-desean-12600631.html)
Good, easy to read article, with a lot of interesting information.
Someone mentioned more paragraphs, good idea, will make it much more readable, especially on mobile devices. Also, I believe it's DeSean (not Desean), don't know why, but getting names right is always a big deal. A little grammar note, "Albert Morris has ran..." needs to say "has run..." or simply use the past tense which is "ran".
Again, good job, looking forward to more...

seen all this before, Dan Snyder move written all over it just like McNabb... plenty of ecstatic redskins fans after that one as well.
Another off season championship locked up.
As always I desperately hope I'm wrong and suddenly Dan Snyder fantasy football starts to be a viable team building strategy, or maybe he just gets lucky at some point and it just works out for him, much like his business success where he bankrupted his dad multiple times before he finally accidentally got rich on the 90's big fake "consulting" business fad.

Snyder I feel is more than worthy of a lot of criticism. I imagine that if someone decided to do a show about nightmare bosses Snyder would be on the short list. And given some of the stuff he's done with litigation and the like as well as other things its clear the guy is no saint.
With that said I feel like the one criticism that keeps getting thrown Snyders way in spite of being most unfair is that he has continued to meddle with front office football decisions. I'd say he's actually been quite the opposite, as his involvement in football matters seems to be doing what fans wanted him to do all along, simply open up the vault and sign the checks when needed.
Now maybe thats a product of Allen and Shanahan doing a great job of setting up boundaries, maybe its a product of Snyder taking a lot of the criticism to heart following the 2009 season, but regardless I think at this point its fair to say that his involvement in football decisions is limited at best. Certainly not much different than the level of involvement you see from guys like Kraft and Allen, at least in regards to football matters.

Nothing at all like the McNabb deal.
Yeah nothing at all
1) seemingly desirable proven player
2) smart franchise that makes more good personnel decisions than bad doesn't want him suddenly
3) franchise with a history of flashy big name off season championship winning moves that tend to blow up in their faces snapps him up.
It's nothing at all like McNabb, one catches the ball and the other throws it... okay you win...
Seriously it's like the guy in your FF league who always snapps up the last two years top performers and is shocked when he doesn't make the playoffs "But I had all the best players" That's Dan snyder's redskins and this off season is no different.
The only question is will they get lucky and make me eat my words or will I be posting a hollow and not at all enjoyable "I told you so" at the end of the season to a bunch of people I totally commiserate with and wish weren't suffering through this bizarro-double-reverse-fecked-up-sports-version-of-groundhogs-day along with me.
Maybe my fellow skins fans know this is doomed just like I do and they just want to cling to that false hope at the beginning of the "off season championship" despite knowing where it most likely will end up. Maybe that's all they have left. I envy anyone who can go into this season expecting more than a mediocre, media circus and player personnel soap opera filled embarrassment.
It all started with "we're going to make RGIII a pocket passer" and got more preposterous from there.

1.) McNabb was a mid 30 year old QB past his prime
2) We traded multiple picks to get McNabb
3) Our offensive coordinator said he did not want McNabb
1) DeSean is just hitting his prime at 27 years old
2) We gave up zero picks to get him
3) The OC (and HC) strongly advocated going after him
Anytime we get a "big name" player, out comes the "Well there goes Dan Snyder, playing fantasy football again" rants. Simply amazing
