It's pretty obvious that you only pick him up if you can fit them under the cap. I think he'd be a good signing if he came cheap.

Once we have addressed all the major areas in need and if we have room under the cap, then yeah, I agree. Like I said, depth is a good thing. Of course having that extra salary cap room can prove just as much of a good thing, obviously. But, I wouldn't go out and grab a guy that plays something like MLB when maybe the depth issues are more problematic in other areas. Not saying this is necessarily so in the MLB position for the Redskins. However I wouldn't, for example, go out and grab a running back knowing I had depth in that area even though the free agent is a quality player and you MIGHT get him cheap. But, then again, if the guy shows that he is a quality players, you're probably not going to get him very cheap to begin with.

I don't see any reason why we shouldn't go after Sharper. The fact that Marshall played above average last season as an OUTSIDE linebacker, does not mean he will play at the same level as as MIDDLE line backer. Yes, I am aware that Pierce made that change successfully, but that doesn't mean all others can.

If he can be gotten for value, then get him, if not, then pass up. Sharper is a quality player, but the skins should show restrain on the cap hit.

Read this article it will clear up as to why the coaching staff feels that Marshall is more than able to step in at MLB. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=citadel-2_365670_71&prov=citadel&type=story

Anyhow nothing against Sharper, but we would not be gaining much, I mean he would still have to relearn the MLB position in Williams schems. I am not saying that he cant do it, but why bring someone in when there is someone here that has a year under his belt in the system?

Sharper would cost us to much

Stick with what we've got, MLB is not a huge priority and if Williams is comfortable with what he's got at that spot, so am I.

Exactly. I really would love to see the fruits of Marshall's efforts last year coming into effect.

I have to admit, I have always been partial to good MLB's. I like the big, run stuffing, "I'm gonna kill you bad" kind. Marshall doesn't really fit into that mold. But, as with most, I am all about Williams - if Marshall is good enough for Williams, Marshall's good enough for me.

AND he's talking about bulking up for the position too. I think he could fit the bill you're talking about if he puts on some muscle. I remember Marshall laying down some nasty hits last year too.

Since we had SO many, his didn't quite make the highlight reels.
