» Over the Cap- Top NFL Contracts: Wide Receiver (http://overthecap.com/top-player-salaries.php?Position=WR)

There are rumors that DJax's deal is going to be more than Deckers, as the standard for FA this year.. So here are the top 16-17 WR contracts. Only Tampa Bay, Lions currently have two WR on this list.

It's interesting to note that of the top 4 teams last year in the playoffs: Percy Harvin had a large contract for the Seahawks, but really only played a small portion of the year. For the Broncos, the highest paid WR is Wes Welker at 20th. The 49ers and Patriot don't have a WR in the the top 20 priced contracs. Point is the best teams don't seem to invest/need high priced WRs..

I'm guessing part of it is he doesn't want to risk being in the same spot a couple years from now. From what I understand his contract with the Eagles made the cap implications of releasing him virtually non-existent. As a result they were able to let him go at the drop of a hat.

A more generous signing bonus and years as has been suggested would require any team signing him to jump through more hoops should they have a change in heart.

No Dirt, not true. The cost of releasing Jackson was a $6 mil. dead cap hit. See here (http://nfl.si.com/2014/03/28/desean-jackson-released-philadelphia-eagles/)or here (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/28/eagles-will-carry-6-million-on-2014-cap-for-desean-jackson/).

This is one reason why I have beaten the drum against DJax. Philly wanted him gone so bad, they were willing to absorb immediately a dead cap hit of $6 mil.

Besides, in two years a DJax deadcap hit of $6 mil. could be ours, too, if we sign him.

Well $6 mil was cheaper for Philly than getting rid of him in the future when the cap hit was going to be even more.

Alright well I understand this from an argument perspective, and yes there may be something more to tell from this, but it still a terrible thing to have playmakers. Teams have to score, and honestly if we get 2012 IIi back again we will again score. I think if we can pull this off to go along with Garçon and the gang we will be great there this year and possibly prolific next.

If we can add a RT and FS starter in this years draft plus a true nt I would be very happy going into next year.

2 years ago people wondered how good that team could have been in the playoffs sans rg III's knee. We weren't that far from making a run in 2012 until the end of the 1sr quarter against Seatle.

I am not ready to concede that we can no longer compete for the East, and in the playoffs anything can happen.

I want djax here, but saying it's our 1st round pick is a little misleading. The cap hit from a first round pick gives you a top player with 4 years of cap bliss. There's no guarantee of 2 years cap bliss with djax.

Not contact wise, but it would all but take WR off the board in the 2nd round and fill a so called need. I don't look at money when it comes to players.

Wonder if JR will be next, but I doubt he would be to impressed by Dale. Who knows though guys like cars that go fast.. Except we usually like ones that turn right as well as left... Zing!
