NLRB: college athletes are employees, can form unions

So question ,does this now mean that college athletes can now have their scholarships taxed as income ?I'm presume that this means all college athletes as in basketball or baseball or soccer ?Does this include the band ,cheerleading ,most of those are scholarships as well .

I still don't understand why players can't make money off their names. Like the Olympic model.

It's said this ruling doesn't apply to public universities. This seems like an unfair burden to private schools, but OTH this will make private schools more attractive to recruits. So public universities would have to adapt, IMO.

Ex.: I think Coach Roy Williams at UNC-Chapel Hill makes a lot more than a state employee in his job is ordinarily allowed to, so his salary is competitive with the Coach Ks and Pitinos out there. So I think public universities would adapt.

What about the non-revenue generating sports, like golf and volleyball? Completely unaffected by unionization?
