Good luck to Carriker resurrecting his career, I always liked him when he was here but 2 years on the bench due to injury pretty much signaled the end of his career here. I like Rocca too but his inconsistency hurt us.

It was pretty obvious when you look at their cap hits. Surprised Bowen didn't get restructured or released.
I hope Carriker gets another shot here assuming he's 100%... vet min anyone?

He must have hid in the Laundry Room when he saw other players being called into Bruce Allen's office. That's the only reasonable explanation.

Yeah bring back Carriker on the cheap. High effort, high character guy. If he can't make it back then roster cut.

It's only a matter of time before Bowen is restructured or cut. His production and injury history don't merit the money he is going to receive. Especially after re-signing Baker.

Agree. Hate to say I told you so on that contract when we got him, but yeah I told you so.

In terms of cap consequences Carriker is the only big name. (Per the cap sheets)
Carriker release saves 3.2 in cap space.
Rocca = 1.2M
Quinn = .7M
Jamison, Megget = ~.5 each.
Net savings ~6M, though I am sure that it isn't that simple.

It almost is. Just add back about $500K each for the next 5 guys moving back into the top 51. So net cap room cleared is about $3.6M.
Likewise, if we sign another player for $1.5M, he bumps someone out of the top 51. So subtract $500K for a net cap hit of $1.0M.
