Good for you arctic-dwellers in getting away to sunny beaches. I wish you a hearty party.

Lotus 03-25-2014, 09:57 PM Good for you arctic-dwellers in getting away to sunny beaches. I wish you a hearty party. DynamiteRave 03-28-2014, 11:09 PM I'm starting a new job in a few weeks and leaving this current one. I like what I do, (non-profit, working with injured military service members) but the non-profit is HORRIBLY run and run by someone who is terribly vindictive towards families she doesn't like. I don't want to get too specific but... It's bad. Feels like high school sometimes. Plus we butt heads and the pay is downright highway robbery (I get paid below minimum wage) So I'm getting out of that situation. Going to actually do work in my field of study, working with adults with autism, again in a non-profit setup. I like non-profits, what can I say? punch it in 03-28-2014, 11:11 PM That sounds very rewarding. I commend you Rave. Congrats on the new gig. The world needs more people like you. RedskinRat 03-29-2014, 12:45 AM Watching a movie this evening, 5.1 quake hits, fiancée and cats freak out. 12 floor apartment was waving like French flag of surrender. No damage, no biggie. Fiancée wants to leave CA. Sissy. RedskinRat 03-29-2014, 01:09 PM Something like that, although the previous one was 'meh' by comparison. Giantone 03-29-2014, 07:49 PM . DynamiteRave 03-29-2014, 07:56 PM Just want to say thank you for the work you do . Thanks. I think you thanked me once when I got the job working with the military service members. :) I forever want to work in a community where I'm helping others or a struggling or overlooked population. I should've been a social work major. Giantone 03-30-2014, 06:22 AM Thanks. I think you thanked me once when I got the job working with the military service members. :) I forever want to work in a community where I'm helping others or a struggling or overlooked population. I should've been a social work major. There is a Wounded Warrior unit at Quantico and I see the people there sometimes and I just admire their fortitude and fight . JoeRedskin 04-02-2014, 07:29 PM Appeared before the State's three major elected officials seeking approval of my client's highly contentious project. After approval by 2-1 vote, was told by my client that my presentation was "masterful" and heard through another attorney that one of the deputies to these officials commented that my presentation was "an excellent example of client advocacy". ... and, to top all off, as part of the presentation, and in response to a really, really stupid suggestion from one of the officials, I was able to firmly, professionally and correctly tell an elected official with considerable power that he was wrong, was being stupid and needed to sit down and shut the F up. No one in the room disagreed. Client bought me lunch and beer. It tasted far too sweet. |
