"He’ll have to do so while playing for new 49er head coach Mike Nolan, who got the job despite being thoroughly worthless. Congratulations Aaron, and welcome to hell." :laughing2

"...departed Samari Rolle, who, since being accused of spousal abuse, was required by league mandate to sign with the Ravens." :laughing2 again.
He's bringing it this week.

i'm still a believer of drafting williams if he's there, otherwise look at rolle or try to trade down...

I am a devout Williams believer. I might be brught to tears if we have a shot at him and pass. I might even cry if the Vikes take him. If he's gone I pass on Rolle if there are any trade downs available. Otherwise I'll hold my nose as we draft Antrel "Not Samari's Brother" Rolle and watch him and Taylor keep us close enough to lose 10 games again by 50 points total. We need offense.

I say go get the big boy, he will make an instant impact. I agree with the article, we don't need a corner. I mean, if we were looking at a game breaking, once every 10 years, 6 foot DB, then i say get him, but we are not. Harris can fill the void for 3 more years if healthy. Wilds is coming along as well.

we were 6-10 with a 3rd ranked kick ass D, so if our D is 1st overall next year that means we'll be like 8-8??

We need ball control, a play-action threat, and more 3rd down and 2's.

I gotta boo this article. He says we were 6-10 last year and thus need to fill holes, not provide apprenticeships to starters we already have in place. Sorry, I've said it in so many threads but I'm going to say it again...
RECEIVERS TYPICALLY TAKE THREE YEARS TO DEVELOP INTO IMPACT PLAYERS.

Drafting Mike Williams is likely to be a bigger apprenticeship than drafting a corner. First off, Springs is not a durable guy despite his health last year. He has had a career marred with injury after injury. Plus both guys are old. You have to acknowledge that a rookie corner like Rolle or Pac Man would play right away as a nickel, that is unless you really think the world of Garnell Wilds.

Though I suppose you could make the same risk of injury argument for Santana Moss. So I'd actually be OK with drafting Mike Williams at 9. I think a corner makes more sense, but I just mean to say that if we draft WR at 9 or CB at 9, either way I think the player will be an understudy in the rookie season, and even longer in the case of a WR.

And you can never have too many corners, especially with TO in our division.

I don't see Mike Williams dropping to us on the 9th pick. The Vikes will for sure take Williams if he is there to fill Randy Moss's shoes. I say if he is there you take him.. We need playmakers and winners and he is that..
If we don't get him we should try to trade down and get a 2nd round pick and draft a CB in the 1st round. From what I have been reading the CB's in this years draft are allrite so dropping a few places down should not hurt us in drafting a top flight cornerback!!
