you prove my point, the Redskins have had success with backup QBs

We also had a hall of fame cast all around them including our coach. We had an absolutely amazing defensive line, and an incredible secondary to go with it. The fact that the Skins of the 80's had success with "cast off" qb's has zilch to do with Kirk Cousins and the Redskins of today.
Edit: i am not taking anything away from what Gruden might accomplish or the direction we might be headed in, but to say what happened 25 years ago means we can turn the trick today with Cousins is silly.
Edit 2: in what world was Sonny a back up qb? He was a starter when we got him from Philly, and won pro bowls. He is one of the greatest in Redskin history.

Williams was a starter in Tampa Bay long before coming to Washington *AND* had nearly gotten the Bucs to the Super Bowl. So, Williams already had proven history of being starter material in the NFL before coming to Washington.

No. Thinking of the guys I listed as backups is a misrepresentation for reasons i mentioned.

His idea of backup seems to be someone who did not start every game they ever dressed for. So I guess Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers are backups?

Wow....we're comparing backup QB strategy's from 42 years ago to today.
Thats not very irrefutable.

Add Tom Brady to that too.

Gibbs and Saunders did not really have the same offense.Saunders was there 06 and 07. Jason Campbell had two years in his system. I was just emphasizing it was a hybrid of Saunders/Gibbs. Not any transition from 06 to 07.

I seem to remember JC always learning a new offense. Didnt he go through that at Auburn too?Lol, yeah I think one of those things that gets repeated enough times people believe it's true, when it's not. Campbell had 2 years in the Saunders offense, and 2 years in the Zorn offense. He did not have to "learn a new offense each year" with the Skins.

Dunno about Auburn. Wonder if that would be a plus or not.

JC could have played in one system his entire life and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Has JC, in his defence, ever had a decent line to stand behind?
