Just gonna say it, but I see a double standard here in the Eagles organization. Resign and overpay Riley Cooper who did what he did last offseason, but Desean done zero and they blame possible gang activites? Thats kinda garbage
There's a big difference between yelling a racial slur when drunk, and being involved with a gang that's been connected to two murders since 2010. Jackson says he doesn't belong to a gang, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. But I can understand why the Eagles' FO cut ties with him.
And like punch said, money was a big part of it, too.

I bet you DJ isn't part of a gang but is known to associate with guys who ARE in a gang.
Still, not a good look.

Riley Cooper isnt making 11 mill this year.
Edit: if there is a double standard it is economical and not racial.
Riley Cooper acceptable DJAX not acceptable. hmmmm guess Eagles front office don't consider what Cooper did as being that bad.

Let's take Jackson point of view for a second, and say that the gang stuff is a non-issue. Is this the first case of Chip Kelly mishandling a star player? I know Kelly gets lots of love in the media, and so far it seems deservedly so, but one issue with going from College to NFL as a head coach is that the players are now grown men, and may not cater to the head coach's beliefs as easily as college athletes do. No clue if there is correct in any way or just some "confirmational bias" on my part.
Releasing a star player that was already accounted for cap wise, and is a big part of your style offense is not the typical NFL action.

Everyone has definitely drank the Kelly Kool Aid. I think you're right, Kelly is now being exposed to issues he didn't have to deal with in college.

From a pure football perspective, a player like Cooper fits more into what Kelly is looking for than DeSean. Size matters

It's not everyday that a player like Jackson is outright released. If I were Bruce Allen, I'm making a phone call.

True, but that can be a double-edged sword. You gotta wonder why the Pigeons let him go at all and just walk away at that.
BTW That gang ties story IMO is just spin. I think that DJax was such a di&k for so long, Kelly couldn't take him any more. If so, why would DJax be different wherever he goes?

People here that truly know football know his stats were very misleading. That's why when his stats from last year are mentioned around here, I just SMH.
RG3 knows what he has to do. I have no doubt that he'll do everything in his power to progress as a passer. We already know he's basically living over at Redskin Park. I think we have the right guy to coach him up. I think RG3 rebounds. But if he doesn't, all hell will break loose.
