[QUOTE=Mattyk;1057646]An extra wild card also would have meant a deserving team like the Cardinals could have gotten in this year. So it can go both ways.
I say why not? 14 teams out of 32 isn't a bad ratio. I'd rather add more playoff games than regular season games.[/
Why not just let half the teams in? Or how about football on Tuesday and Wednesday nights? Or what about just removing kickoffs all together? Or why not play 18 games? Goodell seems like the kind of guy that wants to change shit just for the sake of change. Not realizing he's ruining a good thing. Leave the damn game alone.
More times than not we're going to see 8-8 teams like Pittsburgh making the playoffs, rather than a 10-6 team like Arizona.

The main change I want to see is re-seeding the playoffs based on overall record.
So then a division winner could be left out of the playoffs? Terrible idea. If they went to that format then why not just do away with the divisions?

Also with 7 teams making the playoffs in each conference then that would mean 6 Wild Card teams? Only one team with a bye? 6 wild card games on a weekend? Another terrible idea. Waters down an already watered down product.

Um no. Re-seed after the playoff teams are determined.

Sunday or Saturday is fine with me but not a weeknight ,just way too much going on .
agree, no Monday night game. But Sunday night and Saturday would be great.
Also with scheduling, would like to see a Saturday SuperBowl and Id like to see them move the Thursday Night game to Friday Night. Oh and no more London games.

So an NBA style conference seeding rather than divisional standings? I'd be ok with that as long as the divisional champs got a home game in the 1st round. Otherwise there's really not much benefit to keeping separate divisions, there could just be two conferences.

Just like the old days in the NFL, when there were just two divisions and the division winners faced off for the championship.

Rod Marinelli promoted to DC, Kiffen moved to assistant HC for the Cow squirts.

Just like the old days in the NFL, when there were just two divisions and the division winners faced off for the championship. And like the NBA and MLB, for some teams the season is over far too soon. I think the NFL's 4-team divisions, with the division champ guaranteed a playoff home game, is a great way to keep most teams in the running for something important.
