There's a big difference between Harvin's injury and RG3's injury. Seattle is defensive team, whose main offensive threat is the Lynch's running game. Seattle is not a passing team nor are they an "offensive juggernaut" (thanks to their defense) that could be easily affected by the loss of a WR.

Seattle has had their hits and misses just like any other team, they've just been fortunate in some aspects.

People forget how they paid $26 mil for Matt Flynn and didn't work out. They were lucky they had a competent starter in Wilson, otherwise they would have been up the creek without a paddle in terms of QBs.

Seattle has been fortunate that Marshawn Lynch worked out for them at all, after having such difficulties in Buffalo. He is their number one offensive weapon and one of the reasons they made the playoffs last year and this year.

They've done a good job in the past two drafts and have gotten good production out of low rounders. But they've been fortunate in other areas and haven't suffered through some of the catastrophes the Redskins have had to deal with (RG3 injury/cap penalty, etc., etc.).

How were they lucky? You act as though they picked Wilson up off of the street. He was a drafted player and there was competition for the job. Wilson won the job because he was better than Flynn. There are no politics in Seattle. Carroll preaches competition and Wilson won that competition.

Yes, but people act like Pete Carroll and his GM are flawless. Just pointing out that they made a mistake with Flynn and they were lucky that Wilson (a 3rd rounder) worked out the way he did. I'm sure Carroll thought of Wilson as their QB of the future and Flynn as the short term solution. Luckily, their QB of the future was able to play very well.

When our team f*cked up and got a FA QB (McNabb) who sucked, we were not so lucky.

They were lucky he lasted until the 3rd round.

Pretty damning indictment that exactly none of the coaches we fired are even in the NFL as position coaches this upcoming season. I think Matt LaFluer is the the only coach who got a job and he's a college position coach.

More Wild Card Games likely to happen in 2015. What a horrible idea. We're going to start seeing teams with 8-8 and 7-9 records making the playoffs.

Seattle was not loaded before Pete Carroll and John Schneider arrived in 2010. They have done a much better job with the draft than Shanahan and Allen have. They only used one high draft choice on their excellent defensive backfield, Earl Thomas in the first round. Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor were both 5th round picks.
Saying that they had no injuries is also inaccurate considering that their top FA pickup, Percy Harvin, essentially missed the entire year. Bottom line, they've built the right way - excellent drafting and player development. They had a blueprint and stuck with it. I fear that this offseason will be a return of free spending like there is no tomorrow around here. That is no way to sustain success, as Snyder has proven over and over again.

Seattle actually let their low round picks play, not lock them on the practice squad or in the doghouse for coachable mistakes,
Shanny wasn't into preparing a team to compete, most of the opening games of the 4 seasons he was here were played poorly, their games after the bye week were always terrible, he didn't do a great job here of coaching and grooming young players, that's why he preferred veterans.

How do you feel about the championship games being on Saturday and Sunday night (or Monday night)?
