I would rather go DL than CB in F/A . Money would be a big factor in the decision , Im not sure any of the DB's are worth the $ ( maybe if we were 1 player from a championship team ) . Washington Redskins Free Agency GM: Defensive Line Edition - Hogs Haven (http://www.hogshaven.com/2014/3/9/5486540/washington-redskins-free-agency-gm-defensive-line-edition) . I honestly hope we get some hard nosed team guys first , and take the approach of building the foundation for a decade of winning football !

as far as i know we're not looking at verner, and he's not going to be any cheaper than talib, so that's not really an option.

The Redskins have expressed interest in free agent CB Corey Graham.

It doesn't look like the Ravens are going to be able to keep their valuable nickel corner from hitting the market Tuesday. Graham should be an affordable target for a Redskins team that is desperate to upgrade their pass defense by any means necessary. They had the league's No. 20 secondary last season and the No. 30 unit in 2012.

Graham is good at nickel and on special teams. I'd approve that signing.

No way is a safety getting that kind of money. He needs to lower his demands.

Goldson signed for an average of slightly over 8 mil per year when the cap was 10 mil less. Plus there is Eric Berry, whose contract averages 10 mil per year already. Given the cap rising like it is, 9 mil is not out of the question. Especially since it will continue to go up a good amount in the future.

Most of you are still stuck on the cap being 120 mil or less when talking about salaries. Those days are over. Thats why Shields got almost 10 mil per year from the Packers. No way is he worth that under the previous salary structure of the NFL. He probably is worth it now, and is easily worth it in a couple of years. Salaries of top end players are going to be jumping significantly in the next 5 years.

$10M a year for Byrd doesn't sound crazy to me at all. He's going to have several teams making a serious push for him so his price is only going to shoot up.

As long as the skins arent giving him his 10 mill, or Talib whatever he wants.

The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley is hearing that chatter of free agent FS Jairus Byrd landing with the Dolphins is a "smokescreen."

The smokescreen was apparently leaked by Byrd's reps to the NFL Network, which reported Sunday the Fins were "expressing real interest" in this year's top free agent safety. It may be a sign Byrd's camp isn't satisfied with his contract offers to date, which wouldn't be shocking. Byrd is seeking $9 million per year. That's an awful lot to pay a safety with 4.68 speed going on age 28.

Lotta smoke being blown, and not just by chico
