You have to rush the passer in order to be successful in this league bottom line. Orakpo is our guy in rushing the passer. The performances of our DEs our not helping Orakpo and Kerrigan be successful as he should be.
Riley doesnt, hasnt made game changing plays; Orakpo has.
We need to bring both back. Im not opposed to Franchising Orakpo if a deal cant get done, actually would perfer it.

I wouldn't gloss it over by saying Orakpo makes game changing plays.
Orakpo makes plays that help us to not lose so badly.

When Orakpo goes to the Jets, Pats or Steelers people are going to be livid when they see the sack totals.

The Steelers and Pats usually do not sign high dollar free agent LB's. They draft a ton of Lb's and promote from with in.

Come on, Chico, you know better than that. The Skins are going to Franchise Orakpo. You said so yourself.
It would look bad if the Skins didn't make some sort of perfuctory attempt to sign him to a long-term deal. So they'll tag him and enter into negotiations for a long-term deal. But they really shouldn't sign him long-term and they won't. They'll just try to make it look good and then pay him for one year.
Meanwhile, the Skins need to find ways to generate more pressure from other players, as well, if they want to get the most out of Orakpo. He is not Lawrence Taylor but, with a little help, he can be even more effective in rushing the passer.

Well I think the Steelers have cap problems righ tnow, so I highly doubt they'd be able to sign anyone.

If we lose Orakpo it will be another Carlos Rogers, Laron Laundry situation for sure. Leave here and excell somewhere else. We've seen that too much in the last 20 years.

When did this become Riley vs Orackpo? Why can't we be happy and attempt to get both?
Riley is only one piece of the two we need in a 3/4. I feel like we need to go and and make a move for someone like Butler. If we don't make a move for someone with his skill set. We should be drafting Christian Jones from Florida State.
Philadelphia beat us because we lack the speed on defense. Dallas always abuses us with their TE's. We need athletic LB's in the middle to win the NFC East.

That is correct and New England only has $5M. According to the source below.
