EARTHQUAKE2689 02-13-2014, 01:10 PM Sure they could win the division and do another one and done in the playoffs. I don't think they're close to being a serious SB contender. That's why I'd focus on the draft and stay away from the older vets in FA.
I 50% agree with you, as we saw what we were doing to the eventual SB champs with a 70% Griffin, it depends on how our defense improves and the growth of RGIII, Alfred, Garcon, and Jordan Reed on offense, if they can click and if our defense can improve. If that happens I feel we can be a contender.
EARTHQUAKE2689 02-13-2014, 01:15 PM Also, it remains to be seen if David Amerson, Richard Crawford, Phillip Thomas, and Bacarri Rambo can develop into serious contributors. I felt Crawford was gonna turn into a very good slot CB before he got hurt last year, and this is basically Thomas's rookie season coming up.

I think there's no reason that Amerson can't be a solid #2 at the minimum.
We'll have to see how Crawford comes back from his injury, he had potential as well.
Rambo's going to need to learn to tackle better and take better routes to the ball to be anything other than a depth player.
Thomas - ???

I agree but funny thing about Thomas is, out of all our picks last year I felt he had the highest ceiling. Reminds me of TJ Ward coming out of Fresno State.
over the mountain 02-13-2014, 05:41 PM i think age is a fluid and relative consideration. when we signed fletcher he was on the wrong side of 30 but his intangibles made him a smart FA addition.
age doesnt automatically scare me off. its certainly a consideration given our current state but if we can add a good vet here and there, im all for it.
i think nowadays, you have to view every year as your year and opportunity. maybe not the cleveland browns or raiders but i see us as a much more complete team than them.

Just wanted to get your opinion(s) on this.

Does anyone actually believe that the coaches didnt know about what was going on? I actually believe the reports from players that not only did Philbin know, but actually asked the OL to toughen up Martin.
And I would still rather have Incognito over Martin (Dont want either one tbh but if I had to choose one, its going to be Incognito). What happens when someone lines up over Martin and calls him a crybaby, which is going to happen if he keeps playing. Is he going to walk off the field citing abuse? Is he going to stop trying claiming he felt depressed?
I also dont see how someone who has never dealt with this stuff can give an honest assessment. If Wells did a report on every team, they would all say that abuse and bullying are present, as hazing is commonplace in the NFL. I doubt Wells spends much time with friends who call him names while he calls them names back. My friends and I are pretty harsh to each other, im sure Wells would claim that we bullied each other (why I have trouble believing much about this report) when we actually have each others back when needed.
