Interesting read about how Gruden likes to fill out the offensive roster:

How Jay Gruden shaped his roster - Washington Redskins Blog - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/4786/how-jay-gruden-shaped-his-roster)

I noticed they have Tall WRs

Schefter isn't going to run some bogus report just because he's buddies with Shanahan. I'm quite positive he wouldn't sacrifice his career for a coach who probably will never be a head coach again in the NFL.

If Schefter is reporting something, it's something from a legit source. Legit source being key here, and I doubt that source is any former coaches that have no knowledge on the situation.

I disagree. If Shanahan sends him info, he does not need to validate that info before releasing it. it's simply info from a source he will not name and he is not validating it.

Just to add insult to injury, they keep the town idiot in Haslett and fired the best coach we had in coach Bobby Turner. This guy has been a miracle worker, for years. How stupid is that.

Complete and utter speculation on my part, I think the FO liked what Turner did with the RB's and wanted to keep him in spite of his long and substantial ties to Shanny, but that, once the leaks kept on coming, all eyes focused on him. IMHO, he was just the final purge in the night of long knives.

As for Haslett, he and Gruden worked together before. Same can't be said of Gruden and Turner.

Beat reporters said this was a foregone conclusion once Shanny was fired. He's a Shanahan guy, has been for years and years. Great coach, sorry to lose him.

Yeah Turner was a Shanny guy 100%.

Besides, isn't this a good sign that Gruden is making some of his own staff decisions?

Weren't some people complaining that we retained too may coaches or were worried that Gruden wasn't going to be able to make his own choices?

Turner was retained by the Broncos, until Shanny went to Washington. Thats why I thought we were going to keep him. My guess is he probably wanted out. He is thought of as the best running back coach in the NFL.
