I don't think there was a bad hire considering what we just went through

The skins should look back to the Redskins of the 80's and build a physical D and OL just the 49ers.

agreed

For the people that voted that Gruden was a bad hire, can they suggest who they would've rather the Skins hire and why?

Just cuz I'm curious.

Well they could have hired Hue Jackson off that same staff. Jackson is more qualified and had the Raiders playing good football. However Jackson might do and say things that may not go along with the program. The NFL will always be the good ole boy network.

I like the hire, I just don't love it. There were better choices out there. There are already signs of cronyism.

Quinn runs a good 4-3 with multiple fronts. Whisenhunt's done good things with rivers and kurt warner. those are my top 3 I'd rather have than Gruden.

Schefter just shut up:

Redskins say interviews with Roman and Fangio weren’t scheduled | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/12/redskins-say-interviews-with-roman-and-fangio-werent-scheduled/#comment-3082030)

It’s possible that there was a misunderstanding. It’s also possible that someone who currently works for the Redskins — or who until very recently worked for the Redskins — embellished, exaggerated, and/or fabricated the snafu, out of disgruntlement.

The latter may be more likely, given that the 49ers told the Washington Post that they have no concerns about the manner in which the situation was handled.

I'd trust Schefter before I would Tony Wyllie. If it is true, it's bush league.

ps. if you are implying somehow Shanny fed him this info, how in the fuck would he know who they were interviewing for HIS old job?

When a team wins 3 games there should be competition everywhere. RG3 should be the starter, but he should also have to prove that he's the best player. If I were Gruden I would make it uncomfortable for everyone.

If Snyder did in fact say this, and that's a big if, then you're correct...same old same old.

This.

I do not think that Dalton is garbage. What he has done the last few years has been impressive.

But his skillset is not that of RGIII, making his ceiling much lower. Dalton may be as good now as he will ever be. RGIII has lots of room for growth.

Let's hope!

I don’t think anybody is implying he received the information from Shanny. What I believe they are implying is Schefty is close friends with Shanny and his friendship may be clouding his judgment.
Also the 49ers have came out and denied the rumor, in this case I believe Tony Wyllie.
This is a non-issue and BS story.

true Zimmer is a better coordinator I don't think he's a better head coach candidate.

here's hoping the skins see qualities in Gruden you don't see just from the cordinator side of things.

Look at Norv Turner or Wade Phillips. Great coordinators; shitty head coaches.

Schefter isn't going to run some bogus report just because he's buddies with Shanahan. I'm quite positive he wouldn't sacrifice his career for a coach who probably will never be a head coach again in the NFL.

If Schefter is reporting something, it's something from a legit source. Legit source being key here, and I doubt that source is any former coaches that have no knowledge on the situation.
