Big name? Check.
Head Coach that ran the offense that San Diego just shut down last weekend at Cincy? On a team that made it to the playoffs on defense? Check.
Keeping the Defensive Coordinator of what has been a "bottom 10" defense the last 2 seasons? Check.
What, me worry?

I'm optimistic about this. You see every year he's been there Marv hasn't had a losing season. We need Consistency in washington, you can't get to the show if you can't even show up at the dance to get there. Gruden's QB's don't get seriously injured either oh and HE tells it like it is.
See Hard Knocks rant.

So are we going to be the Hard Knocks team this year?
I think it would be fascinating.
That would be spectacular.

Gruden and Griffin are going to get along really well. Both are brutally honest, but also very positive personalities.
I'm not quite as convinced that he's the best person to develop him as a passer, but McVay and the QB coach hire will have a hand in that too.

Why? Dalton has improved every year under Gruden. If Griffin threw 30+ td's like Dalton did, the fans would wet their pants. I think he's the perfect guy to develop Griffin. The real question is can Griffin develop?
Same old crap, Gruden was already pencilled in as head coach before the season ended and the interviews were purely for show.
Hate it.
Or the interviews were in case plan A didn't come together.
Nothing was a guarantee.
Not who I was going to say
Russ Grimm? lol
No seriously, Richie Petitbon?
i cant find video of the presser.
usually i go to redskins.com but didnt see it and CSN only has 1 min snippets.
anyone got a link?
please and thanks

This is a coaching hire that I am actually excited for. I think Gruden will have success as a Redskins coach. A lot more success than I thought Shanahan or Zorn would have. He has tied his fate to RG3 and it seems he does not care about outside influences/rumors. I am also relieved they didn't try to reestablish the past by hiring another Shanahan like Cowher or Jay's brother.
I finally see the franchise heading in the right direction. Next year may be a struggle but I think he will be successful and RG3 will start to show he is the best QB out of a very good class.

It's too tough to tell this early on, but I do like that we didn't go with a retread. Solid move IMO.

I think Gruden managed Dalton as well in 2013 as he did in 2011.
