Lotus 04-21-2014, 04:36 PM Kouandjio worries me. There are reports of him frequently getting pushed back and beaten despite his clear talent. There are reports of his riding his talent rather than working.
I don't mind grabbing a RT at #34 (Moses would be fine) but IMO we are better off choosing a player who is less of a gamble.
warriorzpath 04-21-2014, 05:25 PM Verrett would be a great one. If he's on the board and Allen passes, there will be blood. Dude is an elite talent, probably the most talented DB in the draft. And why wouldn't he play much next year? He's miles above Porter.
I agree. Verrett will start day one with any team that drafts him. Also, the only real negative on Verrett is his size. And I only see that affecting him playing the high point on a jump ball type of pass with a big elite receiver, but a big elite receiver would have an advantage over most NFL cornerbacks.
Any other perceived negative is a non-issue.

I am now officially on the Kouandjio [OT Bama] bandwagon.
Dr. James Andrews says no issues with Cyrus Kouandjio's knee - CBSSports.com (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24470778/dr-james-andrews-says-no-issues-with-cyrus-kouandjios-knee)
Ironically if you showed me this story any time from week...5 up till the recent reports of RG3 being 'back to his old self' I would have disregarded it. Kouandjio has had 2 years on it now without incident so I think its safe to say he should be fine going forward. Of course there's those pesky rumors of the Panthers and Dolphins targeting him in the first round.
Though I will say Moses [OT UVA] is probably still my first realistic choice (I mean who here wouldn't love to have Robinson [OT Auburn] or Matthews [OT A&M] fall to us at 34 lol).

Greg Robinson is a beast. Far and away the best offensive lineman in the draft, and one of only 3 players worth #1 overall, in my opinion. Khalil Mack and Teddy Bridgewater are the other two. Still haven't figured out why that Louisville QB has slid so far. Freaking ignore the dumba** workouts in shorts; watch the game film, and take in the Bridgewaterescence. Whoever drafts him will get a great franchise QB capable of carrying a team on and off the field and capable of winning multiple SBs. Any talk of Bortles going before this guy is asinine, not because it won't happen(it almost certainly will), but because of the notion that it brings with it, that Bortles is the better QB.
But, hey, what do I know? I'm just some random guy on the internet. :Smoker:

I'm not sold on Moses. Some of the film I've seen on him he's either getting pushed back, not anchoring or when he is blocking someone he's not moving his feet. Questions exist about his work ethic as well. Don't know, not seeing it with him.
Lotus 04-22-2014, 06:10 PM What if DE Ra'Shede Hageman fell to 34? Should we take the big fella?
Or, more unlikely, what if NT Louis Nix fell to 34? Should we take the big blob?

I would take Tuitt before Hageman, he has been much more productive.
2013 Stats
Hageman 32 tackles 2 sacks
Tuitt 49 tackles 7.5 sacks.......11 sacks in 2012

Why Jason Verrett Is an Overlooked Gem in 2014 NFL Draft Class | Bleacher Report (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2033974-why-jason-verrett-is-an-overlooked-gem-in-2014-nfl-draft-class#articles/2033974-why-jason-verrett-is-an-overlooked-gem-in-2014-nfl-draft-class)
Much more technically descriptive than me, but same take.
warriorzpath 04-22-2014, 09:43 PM ... like I said before though- Jason Verrett is probably not going to last into the 2nd Round.

Here is my scouting report on Moses [OT UVA].
Absolutely celestial, heavenly finishing big man. Quicker than a jackrabbit on a hot date. So talented he could make an onion cry. The way he blocks is just an easy kiss home with the slickness of his gel.
Blocking style described as simplex. It’s a lovely word: simple and complicated at the same time, and that’s how Moses tends to play. When he fires off his stance at the point of attack he incites an eruption of solar proportions.
Final Grade: Demi-GodIn all seriousness though the way he moves does have an easiness and fluidity to it. Almost effortless. He also has experience at Right Tackle which is certainly a plus. If I had to describe him in one sentence I'd say he's a slightly less talented version of Trent Williams. To clarify, basically a lot of the same general attributes with his quickness, power, size, etc but not better than Williams in any one of those categories save size (only 1 inch taller with arms that are a 1/2 inch longer [34 1/4 vs 34 3/4]).
Though if I had to put money on it I'd say the Redskins select Cameron Fleming [OT Stanford]. Aside from the rumors linking him to the team, he's the type of player that has a lot of the characteristics they're looking for, especially physically, but he's not so hot a commodity that they actually might have the option to trade down and still get him. I feel like all things being equal the current front office tries to trade down whenever possible, save of course of the RG3 trade.
In regards to Fleming [OT Stanford] though I actually just realized something funny. The guy is literally a rocket scientist.
NFL combine: Tackle Cameron Fleming hopes to continue Stanford tradition (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2014/02/20/nfl-combine-tackle-cameron-fleming-hopes-to-continue-stanford-tradition/)
This spring he will complete his degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, so there’s no question about his intelligence.
