$30M goes a pretty long way with the way the first years are typically structured to be pretty reasonable.

MTK 01-21-2014, 01:49 PM $30M goes a pretty long way with the way the first years are typically structured to be pretty reasonable. GTripp0012 01-21-2014, 02:05 PM Aaron Rodgers is also the most obvious example that a mobile quarterback doesn't have to consistently get through his reads or make every throw from the pocket or never take a bad sack in order to win a lot of games or throw for a lot of yards. Rodgers is pretty comfortable as a pocket passer, but a lot of his big plays that separate him from the Jay Cutler's of the world come when he breaks the pocket. skinsfan69 01-21-2014, 02:44 PM I would have agreed, but after looking up some of his stats, he was way worse than it came off to me. Maybe it was the fact Josh Wilson got bent over every other play, but I read something that Amerson gave the highest yards per catch of any other DB. If anything, I remember him playing really well the last 3-4 games, so hopefully the upward trend continues. For me Amerson passes the eye test. He can make plays on the ball. He's willing to wrap up and tackle. I like what I see from him. He just needs more coaching, game experience and perhaps better safety play behind him. SirLK26 01-21-2014, 03:30 PM Biggest thing we have to remember that while we CAN go a bit nuts in FA, it's not going to let us sign 4-5 big-time guys. Assuming we resign Hall, resign Riley, MAYBE get a Byrd/Ware, MAYBE resign Hall, we're probably going to be a bit more limited than we'd like to think. CC or Schneed could answer it better based on speculation, but I think we could get 1-2 top quality guys and maybe 2-3 more depth guys. Just to be clear, I don't really think we can sign all the guys I mentioned. I was just sayin'. I do, however, think we can sign multiple impact players. After resigning Orakpo, Riley, Hall, and Davis, we can still sign Ward or Byrd, Verner, Monroe, and a WR like Sanders, Cooper, or Jacoby Jones. Like Matty said, 1st years are structured in a way that we could fit all those guys in. EARTHQUAKE2689 01-25-2014, 11:30 AM I also think we could get Jeremy Maclin for cheap skinsfaninok 01-25-2014, 11:48 AM I also think we could get Jeremy Maclin for cheap Thatd be nice EARTHQUAKE2689 01-25-2014, 12:01 PM Thatd be nice Coming off injury, has something to prove, would be a good pairing with Garcon. diehardskin2982 01-25-2014, 01:26 PM Right now I am hoping we trade down. If we can get an additional 3rd round pick and move down, that has to be the move. We have a lot of holes to fill. The other question is will Cousins be traded and if so for what? Who needs a QB? Browns Jets? Texans Jags Titans? Raiders Vikings Cardinals skinsfaninok 01-25-2014, 01:37 PM I'd offer Kc to Cleveland for a 3rd and that way they won't need to trade up for manziel. Raiders Vikings Cardinals This year a record number of underclassmen have made themselves draft-eligible, making this year's draft very deep. Talent which may have gone in rounds 2-3 in previous years will go in rounds 4-5 this year. With this in mind, your idea of trading down is a very good one. |
