FINALLY SUMONE AGREES WITH ME THAT PIERCE ISNT THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! look someone doesnt jst show up one day being good....if he was that good someone woulda spotted his potential......THE ONLY REASON HE DID GOOD IS BCUZ OF GREG WILLIAMS SCHEMES.......he was good under it jst liek many other no name guys.......middle linebacker is usually the position that gets most tackles on a team ne ways(most of the time) .......i think BARROW is a HUNDREDx better than pierce...for god sake give him a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11........ull see in 2 yrs pierce will be no one w/o greg williams

And you probably think Trent Green was going to be a one hit wonder too. Who would of imagined that Trent would still be in the league today. With talent you just never know. Pierce could bite us in the a$$ or he could make us look like genuies by not signing him. But i do agree with you without having Greg Williams he probably wont be as good.

I have to say Pierce had a great year but Marshall also was something very good! With Barrow and Marshall along with the return of Arrington we will be better then last year at LB spots!!!

agreed but u forgot the big man washington

Barrow is much much much better than pierce but if he isn't healthy he isn't much better than any of us. If he recovers he will be an asset to the team but pierce did great and was one of the best at his spot last year and espn put him as mlb of the year in their all star picks. we just were really fortunate last year at LB positions---- if all of our players were healthy

and w/o GW none of the players would be that good

Pierce is worth every penny he got. He'll even be worth more down the road.I think Pierce did a great job last year but I think its too early to tell if he was worth what he got. Its a risk teams take in the NFL these days if a player has one good year he gets the big contract. I will have to see his play over the next year or two before I can say he was worth every penny.

I think Pierce will be OK in New York. I loved watching him play but I don't think he warranted the contract he got. The Giants definitely went Redskins-style in buying the one-year splash players.

First of all, this item in on "redskins.com" which is not exactly the place you go for anything short of unabashed optimism and team enthusiasm. Don't beat yourselves up by going back and reading what people there had to say about the unbelieveable good fortune that the Redskins had last year in convincing Mark Brunell to come here and lead the team to glory. Articles there are fluff turned out by the Redskins' FO and PR departments.

Secondly, there was a considerable amount of expectation that Barrow's career was over and that he would never play again. So, relative to that scenario, anything short of him being a multiple amputee would qualifty as being "ahead of schedule" for playing this year.

I hope Barrow can make it back; he was a good player and he seems to be a good person. But I won't rely on "redskins.com" as my source of information on his condition - either optimistic or pessimistic.

I hate to be pessimistic, but he's right. Redskins.com isn't going to post an article saying: "Barrow's knee is completely f*cked - details later."

I could not agree more! They are trying to put a spin on the Pierce and Smoot bad news.

Don't get me wrong. I love Redskins.com. I get a happy feeling like when a butterfly lands on a retarded boy's head.
