SKINSnCANES 03-25-2005, 10:48 PM I put Matt Bowen, not becuase I think hes some amazing player, but his return changes how we are going to do things. When Bowen was in we would blitz him, and he was acutally really good at getting to teh qb and applying pressure. When he went down he started blitzing Taylor instead. WIth bowen in there it gives taylor more freedom and hes going to make a lot of big plays next year, I promise this. Taylor is going to be flat out amazing next year and having Bowen back will make him better.
Jansen is definitly a huge return as well. And if Gibbs stays conservative this will be huge in terms of getting our running game going.
Daseal 03-25-2005, 11:13 PM I disagree, Skins. He didn't blitz Taylor enough. Don't expect to see him back a lot. Greg Williams likes him as a blitzer.
its going to be Rasmey, He will not have to worry about any other QB, and he will be able to throw to proven, WR, have maybe 1 of the top 10 offensive line in the league, I said this earlier a post, that I think that he will have a season of... 2280yrds, 23td's, 11int's, and a QB rating of 83%, with those kind of number that means CP is on pace to a 16-17 hundred yrd season, with a Defense in the Top 8, with all of this being said the Skins should finish 10-6 or 11-5, still second best in the division behind the Eagles (as I throw up)....and we should take care the games we should win and have to 2-3 big upsets........
DCopper04 03-26-2005, 01:46 AM Ramsey without a doubt. Aside from him, I have to look at Walt Harris. If we draft a CB, then Harris is unlikely to start, but if we don't, then his play will definitely have a huge impact on the performance of the defense. I know it seems like a cliche at this point, but we've said it a thousand times, GW's system often leaves the corners out in one-on-one coverage, and if they don't play well, we might be in some trouble.
EternalEnigma21 03-26-2005, 03:53 AM I gotta go Lavar.
I know lavar got hurt and everything and we did great without him, but the man is one of the best atheletes the league has ever seen. He will have a huge impact on the defense and games in general. Thats just one more huge playmaker to add to the roster and the captain of our defense. There are alot of people who are down on lavar for some reason lately and i just cant understand it.
Oh and I think they were talking abouit someone returning from an injury last year guys... Ramsey finished the season.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 03-26-2005, 04:34 AM I'm going with Ramsey for several reasons.
First, I'm a big fan of Ramsey - hence my screen name.
Second, I have faith in Gibbs and his ability to make a QB look good. Look what he did for Brunell. Seriously though, Gibbs will make Ramsey look good.
Third, I still STRONGLY believe that Ramsey has enormous potential. Give the guy a good coaching staff (which he has), a good offensive line (which he'll have with Rabach and Jansen), a good running back (which he has with Portis), and decent wideouts and any quarterback will look decent. For those reasons, I think Ramsey will shine.
Fourth, I think Ramsey has the respect of his teammates. He's young, tough, a gun-slinger, and is a "team-guy."
SmootSmack 03-26-2005, 09:37 AM Oh and I think they were talking abouit someone returning from an injury last year guys... Ramsey finished the season.
Yeah I can understand all the Ramsey talk but I suppose I should have been clearer in the initial post. I did mean a player that we missed for most of last season due to injury. I guess I could have thrown John Hall in there as well.
BrudLee 03-26-2005, 09:58 AM I went with Jansen, though I think Barrow getting significant minutes might be the NFL's comeback story of the year.
So much of our offensive woes last year were based on a patchwork offensive line. Jansen is a stellar run blocker, which would have helped Portis. Better runs mean better play action. Better play action means defenses adjust to us, not the other way around.
RedskinPete 03-26-2005, 11:57 AM Arrington,Jansen and Barrow will all have great years! Barrow will take away the sting away from the loss of Pierce and give us time get a draft pick ready when he is done! Arrington also will help that as well just being on the field. As for Jansen I really think he will be a big part to the O getting back to what it should be!!!!
I voted Arrington because I think he will add so much to the defense, he's a dynamic player who Williams will take full advantage of.
But I do think Jansen's return will be HUGE to the offensive line.
