I'm kind of thinking maybe the 'skins put Reed on IR simply because they want to save him for next season. Might as well. I remember back in the good ol' days, Joe Gibbs used to store guys on IR that were healthy enough to play.

What bothers me most about this is that because we are not a winning team there wasn't even a penalty give to Philly on the play that took him out. The officials turned a blind eye to the helmet to helmet collision in that game. It's a joke for the NFL to claim they are protecting players by fining players after the fact. Penalty need to be accessed during games.
If I'm correct his injury was after the catch and at that point he becomes a runner and the H To H rule does not apply.

Also, Lance Lewis signed with the Cowboys. I thought the Redskins would sign him back once Reed went on IR. But this means they still have a roster move to make
WTF?
(SIGH)
I totally missed that he was let go. Thought he was still on the team filling Hankersons spot. I really liked this kid and thought maybe... just maybe this kid as big as he was might develop into something special.
....and now he's with Dallas. Lewis was my pick in the off season to make the team. Now he's a cowgirl. :(

So what LB was brought in to fill the empty spot or did the team have someone on the PS that I missed also?

I'm in a conundrum over the hits. I for one would love for the players to just play and hit. They are making tons of money because of the risk. You take away the risk then they should lower the pay for the players.
However I'm also of the mind that if a player gets knocked out of a game the person who it him should be taken out of the game as well. and... if said player (Reed) has to sit out a few games due to injury then the player that caused it should be forced to sit out as well. Until the injured player can come back. Maybe if the league punished with playing time AND monetary then tackling might change. I also think rules should apply to both sides of the ball though like a face mask, defenders can't grab a face mask but the runner or WR can stiff arm the face mask of the defender. Both should be illegal. If a defender is not allowed to use the crown of his helmet to tackle then the runner or WR should not be allowed to lower his helmet and use his crown to get more yards. or just give them leather helmets again so stop the hard hits. lol.

They are not paid tons of money for that risk. They get paid those amounts because they are some of the few people good enough in their particular area that can do this job, which is a job that getīs paid well due to itīs revenue.
Or how do you explain baseball players, soccer players (outside U.S. ;) ) oder actors getting paid that or even more while having a lot less risky professions?

They aren't making money for the risk, they're making money because they're good at what they do and risks come with the territory, it's not like its hazard pay. Kobe Bryant is getting paid $30 million this year and basketball doesn't typically come with the same hazards (concussions, neck/head injuries etc) that football does. Athlete's pay is all about skill and potential.
Unfortunately I think we need to add TE to our needs list.
I just don't trust Reed to play.

We do t need another TE. Reed, Paulsen, and Paul are fine.
A solid run game from a RB, WR's able to get open, and a pocket passing QB is all we need to make our TE's thrive.
Reed should be use to catch passes, not option pitches. If he fails us, we can just dink and dunk our way to score.

The point is that Reed might not be available.
