With our 33 pick or 34 whatever it'll be , I'd seriously look into LB , I know we need a RT but still
The re-sign Orakpo threadskinsfaninok 12-17-2013, 10:28 AM With our 33 pick or 34 whatever it'll be , I'd seriously look into LB , I know we need a RT but still Southpaw 12-17-2013, 10:33 AM He needs to be signed long term. Orakpo is arguably the best player on the defense, and obviously the most naturally gifted with remaining upside potential. Since he added the inside move to his pass rush arsenal several weeks ago, he's been a menace. I'd prefer they didn't break the bank, but give him whatever his market value is. God forbid we keep some home grown talent around here. firstdown 12-17-2013, 10:53 AM I don't think Orakpo is going to sign a deal with us prior to testing the market. One of the announcers said this past Sunday they talked to Orakpo and he was excited about hitting free agency in his prime. That might also explain his performance the past couple of weeks. Up until week 10 he only had 3 sacks. Not sure how to read into that. I'd like to see us sign him but I just have a feeling he will not be on the team next year. He said it's taken him a while to get confidence back due to the injury. Completely understandable and it's not like the guy ever loafs it. He also wants to stay here. Brian Orakpo getting his groove back during late-season stretch (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/11/30/brian-orakpo-getting-his-groove-back-during-late-season-stretch/) Brian Orakpo says his preference remains to re-sign with Redskins (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/12/04/brian-orakpo-says-his-preference-remains-to-re-sign-with-redskins/) SFREDSKIN 12-17-2013, 11:24 AM Resign him, I'm tired of seeing 1st round picks like Rogers and Landry leave and getting nothing in return. EARTHQUAKE2689 12-17-2013, 12:14 PM With our 33 pick or 34 whatever it'll be , I'd seriously look into LB , I know we need a RT but still "With the 35th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft the Washington Redskins select: Shane Skov, MLB, Stanford." skinsfan69 12-17-2013, 12:20 PM Rak is the best player on a terrible defense. I know we all like him, but he can't be paid like an elite player. If we have 30-35 million in cap space he could eat up almost one third of that. I hope the Redskins proceed w/ caution here. With as many holes as we have, and w/Jackson and two pass rushers on the bench, I wouldn't be afraid to let him walk. skinsfan69 12-17-2013, 12:24 PM What about Brandon Jenkins? Could he step in with help from Tapp and Jackson and do the job? I'd make that gamble and fill other holes ...o-line, MLB and a safety. KI Skins Fan 12-17-2013, 12:43 PM Should we re-sign Orakpo? Yes. Will we re-sign him? We have so many needs that I think it's very doubtful that we'll be able to re-sign him and still address other needs. So, no. KI Skins Fan 12-17-2013, 12:45 PM "With the 35th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft the Washington Redskins select: Shane Skov, MLB, Stanford." No thanks. Shane Skov is slower than molasses in January. |
