He was the same in college. Not saying he can't improve but he's always been prone to throwing INTs.
Well so was I and look at me now. ;)

The defense he is playing is one of the worst defenses ever. Matt Flynn just threw for four touchdowns, McCown threw for four the week before. I do not see any reason why his performance cannot be close to theirs, unless he is worst than two backups. He doesn't have to throw 4 touchdowns but I expect him to look great. If he looks bad against Dallas I personally do not think he will be the answer. I know it is bad to judge a QB by one game... but against this defense, I believe it is fair. punch it in 12-18-2013, 04:36 PM Cousins has to play well against Dallas for me to believe is an option for next year. They have better o-lines and wr's than we do. People were saying that you could put Peyton Manning on this current team and he would be horrible all season, so we have to take those same things into account when Cousins starts. Im not saying that Id rather have KC than Griff going forward, just that any qb on this current team is up against it. donofriose 12-18-2013, 04:39 PM They have better o-lines and wr's than we do. Redskins Oline played well against Atlanta outside of the first couple of drives. Dallas has a terrible defensive line just like Atlanta. Also Green Bay lost a couple of their best receivers and the ones that are playing have been injured all year. I'm not expecting Cousins to throw four touchdown passes, but if he looks shaky or bad at all... I think the talk about trading RG3 because Cousins will be better should stop. Gary84Clark 12-18-2013, 04:47 PM If Kirk Cousins does not beat the Cowboys he is not a franchise QB. Period!!! skinsfan69 12-18-2013, 04:48 PM For the people concerned about Cousins ints, that's part of having an aggressive offense and that's what we saw last week. RG has had some down right terrible Ints this year as well. It's expected with two young guys. Who would you rather have? Drew Brees or Alex Smith? Brees has had a few seasons where he's thrown 20 and 18 ints. So what? Give me that guy over an Alex Smith anyday. We clearly had a real pass offense for the first time all year....w/out Hank and Reed. For only two starts under his belt, and a guy who hadn't started all year, that was pretty impressive stuff on Sun. donofriose 12-18-2013, 04:51 PM For the people concerned about Cousins ints, that's part of having an aggressive offense and that's what we saw last week. Not better, not worst. skinsfan69 12-18-2013, 05:02 PM He looked like RG3 did against Minnesota. Not better, not worst. It's not like Griff has sucked all year. He's had a few good games, but he's had several bad ones. It's obvious that if MS stays, Cousins isn't going anywhere and he's going to let this play out. That's the way it should be. GTripp0012 12-18-2013, 05:02 PM Could not be more wrong here. Brady and Manning were running pro offenses in their first full years under center and passing the ball, as was Andrew Luck. There were no "training wheels" as you put it. Wilson, Griff, Locker, EJ Manuel, Ponder?? I think those guys needed to start out with conservative type offenses. The offenses Manning and Brady are running today were not considered NFL offenses when they broke into the league. Luck is certainly a historical anomaly in terms of what responsibilities he received right from the first game (maybe the only guy in the last 20 years to start Game 1 with the full playbook), but he also hasn't exactly taken the league by storm in terms of performance. GTripp0012 12-18-2013, 05:05 PM If RG2 was actually campaigning for Art Briles and helped get him to come here, he would have done more good for the franchise than Shanahan did in 4 years. |
