Reminds me of john Beck, thought Shanny knew quarterbacks. He was way off on Beck. He was so far off on Beck, this idiot had Grossman as his starter and made us a laughing stock. He was about to be fired, we had been through his "system" QB gamble it became clear we needed a QB with some physical talent. There are plenty of things that Griffin can be criticized for, but being too stupid to play the position isn't one of them.

I couldn't agree more. It also doesn't seem that RGIII had any issues knowing the plays or playbook. We didn't see instances -- this year or last -- where he threw to open space where there was no receiver or the receiver had done something he didn't expect (not with any frequency, any way). Nor was there any hint from the coaches that we were tapping into only a small part of the playbook beceause he didn't know it all -- which coaches will sometimes say with new guys, backups, etc. I don't think this has anything to do with the product on the field.

At least the Shanahans are keeping their stories consistent.

I remember, that summer, I was speaking with my brother about going to a game and I told him, "Until they get a real quarterback, I'm not going to another game! Grossman and Beck?! There's not a starter between them, I'm not going this year." Obviously, I've lifted that ban since we drafted Griffin, but I was all kinds of angry that Mike Shanahan tried to sell me on the Grossman/Beck fiasco.

Btw, he was wrong to bench Grossman when he did too. Apparently, that just his MO
