You're missing the point - Haynesworth's original contract had NOTHING to do with the penalty. Shanny and Allen restructuring Haynesworth's (and Hall's) deals, and sweeping money into the uncapped year is why we were penalized. Again, the owners clearly colluded to discourage this, and to enforce penalties on us and Dallas, but Vinny wasn't here when the so-called offense was committed.

you are 100% right and i was wrong. but TO killa - the money owed to AH that was restructured was guaranteed so shanahan couldnt have just cut AH and gotten out of the behemoth contract. they just restructured it so that the guaranteed money hit was all in 1 year (uncapped) and not spread out like it was in the orig contract.

anyways enough talk about AH .. i do apologize.

I know it is not my 7 million dollars, but how can Snyder think this circus is better than just firing MS now?
I mean he lost 30 million on Haynesworth

I honestly dont see how benching RGIII now is a bad thing

1) Why risk getting him hurt and missing out on the entire offseason program. This is even more important if Shanahan is fired and we have a new coaching staff. In fact, i wouldnt be surprised if it was SNYDER behind benching RGIII for this reason.

2) If Snyder and whoever our coach is next year believe RGIII is our franchise QB and will stick with him no matter what, then why NOT put more film out there on Kirk Cousins? If he performs well, it increases the trade market for him. Thats good for the team

3) Lets say it turns out Cousins is clearly far inferior to RGIII (i dont think he is). If Cousins plays poorly, it kills any QB controversy going in the off-season.

4) If, as i believe, Shanahan (and the players on the team) dont like RGIII and feel the franchise is better with Cousins, this is the chance to prove it. Its a losing season. WHy not? What if we go 3-0 over these final three games and Cousins is noticeably and dramatically better in this system than RGIII. Then Shanahan will have shown Snyder he was right. We keep Shanahan, keep Cousins, and trade RGIII.

The only downside to playing cousins is hurting RGIIIs feelings. To be honest, i dont care. Thus far, RGIII has proven himself to be a diva and a whiny baby who feels entitled to respect and special treatment he hasnt earned. If he cant deal with this situation, then he doesnt have the mental makeup to succeed as an NFL QB.

I just don't get the big deal about him lying when all of the NFL coaches do it at some point. Who cares? It's not his job to tell the media/fans the truth.

And played with a sprained MCL while doing so in the last three games...

What a terrible QB must be....

Just like in life, it's what have you done for me lately.. Who cares what he did last year. This year he has not been good at all.

Listening to NFL Radio... Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller basically aren't buying Shanny's logic. They both value regular season snaps. Using Cam from last year as an example winning 4 games down the stretch. And also asking why aren't all teams with young QBs shutting them down too at this point?

I like how people think there's even a chance of going 3-0 these last games. Cute.

It makes no sense. Nobody ever got better by sitting on the bench. Power play all the way.

I hope this stokes the fires in RG3 to have a great offseason. I also admit curiosity in what Cousins can do given an extended period getting all the reps. He was very impressive last time he got that chance in his lone start (against Cleveland last year).
