Lotus 12-31-2013, 12:48 AM If Griff didnt go to Baylor, and there wasnt all this talk about DS catering to his "diva" qb, etc - would everyone be so against Briles? My main opposition to Briles has nothing to do with RGIII. Briles has no NFL experience of any kind and IMO (and hopefully Snyderallen agree) this is a dealbreaker. GTripp0012 12-31-2013, 02:41 AM My main opposition to Briles has nothing to do with RGIII. Briles has no NFL experience of any kind and IMO (and hopefully Snyderallen agree) this is a dealbreaker. If he said he was going to import his staff straight from Baylor and not add anyone with NFL experience to it, I'd agree with you. But there's no way he gets offered the job if that's his plan. Skins4L 12-31-2013, 03:05 AM did you guys really change the rg3 on the awesome warpath banner to cousins?? lol smh. Skins4L 12-31-2013, 03:07 AM nah i dont want briles or either gruden. whos left?? and just please no whisenhunt. why do i have a feeling it will be one of them were screwed The Goat 12-31-2013, 05:30 AM I remember when G Williams left DC he said something like you never know what can happen down the road and he might be back. His defense won that SB as much as Payton/Brees offense. Hard to find that kind of experience IMO. Is there another candidate who's been part of a SB winning team? And it doesn't require an offensive HC to maximize RG's potential. Belichick is a defensive guru, and I'd say his mentors hip of Brady has been pretty solid. Another similarity between belichick and Williams, both were very underwhelming in their first HC experiences. htownskinfan 12-31-2013, 09:07 AM I keep reading about teams asking for permission to talk to candidates and I'm not seeing the Redskins mentioned in any of these stories What are they waiting for? There's five open positions and only so many candidates and assistants to be had, we need to get moving I am worried as much about the assistant coaches as I am the head coach, I'm afraid there will be slim pickings left Big C 12-31-2013, 10:00 AM NFL - Baylor's Art Briles, Seattle's Darrell Bevell among top candidates for Washington job - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10111402/nfl-baylor-art-briles-seattle-darrell-bevell-top-candidates-washington-job) nice comprehensive list by Clayton by names we've discussed a few of those names make me vomit. Briles would be ridiculous. 58 years old with no nfl experience. this signing would mean that RG3 is running the show which is pathetic. I doubt any other teams would consider Briles. Brian Kelly? really? i really dont think he has been all that great at notre dame. He is an offensive guy yet his qbs usually are average or suck, and his defense and luck are the only reason they ever got to that national championship game. and oh, they were destroyed. there is nothing special about kelly. not really sold on sumlin either. great college coach but what makes him an nfl guy? i'd rather see some more up and coming assistants on that list. MTK 12-31-2013, 10:08 AM @Fsmoot21SeanT: I just spoke with Greg Williams and he is very interested in the Redskins HeadCoaching job.....I think Greg could help Redskins Nation... I'd definitely have him near the top of the list for potential defensive coordinators. Gary84Clark 12-31-2013, 10:29 AM I don't know I just want a good coach. |
