Who says the texans are passing on him? All reports you hear right now are BS

Interesting that you're saying to pump the brakes on this rumor, but you're all in on any negative report regarding Griffin.

IMO Lovie is less of a risk. We can't afford to take big risks at this point. Lovies an excellent proven head coach who commands respect. Pair him with an offensive coordinator who can get rg3 to accept coaching and become a better player, and we have a recipe for success

We can't go much lower than this, why not take a risk?

Shanahan was supposed to be a safe pick.

There is no safe pick when it comes to selecting a Head Coach.

A coach with a "proven" track record is just as risky as a coordinator, a college coach or any other type of coach.

All the talk about what Shanny inherited, he has left a heaping pile of shit for the next coach. What an effing bum

I'm really not locked in on any one guy. I'm more interested in seeing what we do at GM first.

This is my #1 concern atm too. It all starts at GM and what direction he wants to go with the team.

So as long as the new GM chooses a risky HC...you're good. Got it.

Well in all fairness who else is going to make the decision on who our knew hc is?

Not trying to bust anyone's balls on HC preferences, but unless something big happens I don't think there's a more qualified candidate available than Lovie. Guys like Briles, even Obrien are def risky, but it's unclear if there's potential high reward to justify the risk. For one thing, both those guys will need huge help creating an nfl caliber staff. Not saying they can't do it eventually, but it's unlikely to come together in a single off-season. And they're coming into a situation where character and leadership have to be absolutely solid. This team hasn't had that in its coaching in four years. You get all those things automatically with Lovie. Character. Leadership. Full staff.
