Funny they're talking about this news now, though it happened in June. I believe he is at the top of the list right now. Have liked him for a while but didn't think he'd be at the top of the list, new revelations lead me to put him in the top 3
Who's the top three?

Maybe I read it differently, I thought it meant that it was already reduced and he was looking to do it again. Either way I don't know if Snyder wants to do a Shanny buyout, O'Brien buyout plus a salary. That's a ton of $$ tied up in one spot.

He's an interesting name and if Greg Roman is in the mix, Mangini may be in the mix as well. Eric Mangini is taking the offensive with 49ers - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/108220/mangini-taking-the-offensive-with-49ers)

Who's the top three?
Their top 3 appears to be O'Brien, Jay Gruden (the Jonny G flirtation will linger but can't see it happening) and a mystery candidate. Conventional wisdom says that's Briles. I think it could be someone not at all on the radar

Compared to what we have, all of those sound great. But seriously, O'Brien and Jay Gruden both sound like good candidates. However, the HC is going to need a good staff. Our staff, from top to bottom, is not good right now.

Sheehan and Schefter were talking earlier on 980 and indicated that Jay wasn't interested in DC, not a fan of the noise and drama but money and opportunity talks.

Exactly this. Head coach is the big talk of town but I'm equally anxious to see what coordinators/position coaches are hired under the new regime.
