Would you rather have Jace Amaro in the 2nd or Austin Seferain-Jenkins in the 3rd?
Amaro because he is more of a threat down the seam. I say go big or go home on that one.

As a Skins fan I would be dumbfounded if we took a TE in the second or third. If this is just a general question I guess Amaro.
Irrefutable

I wouldn't, there are 6 or so good TEs in the draft, and the Redskins need 1 or 2 more.

We have one of the best young TE's in football. I understand that he was injured last year. I understand the two tight end sets. What I also understand is that we have waaaaay more pressing needs than a backup for Reed or another stud opposite him. Paul and Paulsen are young and cheap, so lets work with that group and address cb, s, rt, rg, ilb.......

I don't get the TE rumors. From what I've seen the articles citing it aren't so much rumors as speculation along the lines of "well Gruden had two good TE's in Cincy so he'll probably want two good TE's in Washington."

There are many who think that Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has Pro Bowl potential after a promising rookie year. Could Gruden push to add another tight end into the mix via the draft in hopes of duplicating the two-TE production he got in Cincinnati?
He could, be it won’t be easy. The Redskins don’t have a first-round pick so they will not have a shot at Eric Ebron out of North Carolina, the consensus top tight end in the draft. He should go in the top half of the first round, if not the top 10.
See nothing even remotely resembling a rumor. Talk about a misleading title.

My argument for a TE has a different premise: we had better make sure that we have one pass catching TE before we worry about two. Reed is not a gimme given his health. It's not like he had a muscle tear and just has to rehab.

Oh I agree 100%. At this point I'm more concerned about Reeds health than RG3's as you can see from the chart provided below. (Additional Commentary Link (http://youtu.be/TBtpyeLxVkI))

However unless Ebron by some miracle falls to us at 34 I don't think I can get on board with drafting a TE that high. In fact it would take a guy who would eventually become a hall of famer before I could make my peace with a Tight End with our first pick and a multi-pro bowl offensive lineman that starts his rookie year in subsequent picks.
And as I stated before Tight End is possibly my favorite position in all of football. In fact Tight Ends: Dirtbag59 is the same as Brett Favre: John Madden.
However if they drafted guys like Niklas {TE Notre Dame} or Fiedorowicz {TE Iowa} as early as the 3rd round or even guys like Lyerla {TE Oregon} or Pedersen {TE Wisc} I could get on board with that.
I still maintain though that Moses {OT UVA} and Yankey {OG Stan} would be my ideal 1-2 punch as unlikely as it would be.

pick #34 needs to be the best player available at a position of need. No one knows who will slide into the 2nd. However, based on the current rankings a very good TE will probably be available.....if a good O/D tackle, safety, ILB slides maybe you take him.
I would like to trade down.......... there are plenty of urgent needs

Can't argue with that. The OL would be much improved.
