Well since we're just throwing gasoline on the fire. I might as well pile on.

I don't think I've ever wanted a season to be over as much as this season. Like at least when we've been bad in the past, I could still at least enjoy the football aspect. All this crap is taking ANY fun out of this.

Rak was a LB in the 4-3 before Shanny got here.
I'll give you that and not blame Shanny for putting him there but he could have moved him to DE if we stayed with a 4-3. Biggest mistake was going to 3-4. We needed to improve the defense but it would have been easier by staying with a 4-3

The scheme isn't the problem one bit, it's who he chose to run it. Haslett wanted no part of the 3-4 and would rather run a 4-3. So why would Shanny get a guy who didn't want to run this scheme to be his defensive coordinator? By far, this has been Shanahan's biggest fuck up in DC. Nothing else, and I mean NOTHING else comes close to this mind boggling move. In fact, I should reflect my list more like this..
1) Hiring Haslett
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
9) Trading for McNabb and Brown
We would not be in this situation right now had he hired a half way decent DC.

Watching the replays this morning, it is just amazing how clean of a pocket CK had at times.
It's called having a real OL instead of undersized midgets that get manhandled.

Mike Shanahan quoted on profootballtalk.com:
“One of the reasons why we had the success that we had, probably the type of success where he separated himself from every rookie in the history of the game, is he was able to do some things that other quarterbacks couldn’t do,” Shanahan said. “We had a dual threat. Now that threat is not quite there, as strong as it was a year ago."
I wonder how that happened, Shanahan. You moron!
I change my vote from Mike Shanahan going away from the 4-3 to the harm he did to RGIII's career (and our chances of winning a playoff game last season as well as our chances of winning this season, and Dan Snyder's investment in RGIII, and NFL football fans everywhere) by playing RGIII when it was obvious that he was seriously injured.
I thought I had forgiven MS for that, but this quote reminded me that I haven't.
I think that Mike Shanahan's continuing failure to protect RGIII which, I believe, has damaged the relationship between HC and QB, will ultimately be the tipping point that incents Dan Snyder to fire MS at the end of this season. If RGIII gets seriously injured again this season behind this crappy OL, you can be certain that MS will be fired.
