GTripp0012 11-25-2013, 12:33 PM I'm starting to think we'll never win again, so why not go with an attention whore who has personality?I have considered this as well.
If you're going to play the role of the loser, that's fine, but at least make it interesting for me. I would tune in to watch Jon Gruden blow up on the sideline and make silly metaphors in his press conference.

Makes you wonder what Jim Mora, Sr. and Dennis Green are doing right now, doesn't it?

Yeah this is what I mean. Gruden loves the camera. But we all have to admit he works his ass off and knows offense. The SB against Oakland was one of the best coaching jobs ever.
ram29jackson 11-25-2013, 01:28 PM look, its obvious Kaep isn't good so the Redskins better exploit that like everyone else has

Problem is as much as CK has struggled our defense makes guys like Christian Ponder look like all-pros. Don't hold your breath on our D exploiting anyone.

Gruden had no excuses losing that SB since he knew the Raiders inside and out and also had an incredible defense backing him. It was like taking an exam and having all the answers before hand.

We won't win tonight because of our D, gore will.have 100 and CK will have 200 passing
NC_Skins 11-25-2013, 02:30 PM Rich Gannon? Brad Johnson? Gruden may be a little bit of a attention whore, but the guy knows his stuff. Hell he even got to the playoffs with Chris Simms.
He got to the playoffs with one of the best defenses in NFL history and a power running game. I suggest you look at the stats of Brad Johnson during his tenure at Tampa Bay and tell me if you think those are any reflection of a good QB. If you think so, I surely don't want any QB you consider as good.
I'll give you Rich Gannon because he did make all-pro one of the years in Oakland. That said, I think it says a lot that Bill Callahan took the very same team that Gruden coached and got them to the Super Bowl. Footnote: Gannon made MVP under Callihan. So was it the OC that whole time or Gruden?
it's easy to be a good coach when you got a stacked team, which is exactly what Gruden worked with in both locations. Also, who picked those players? We know good and damn well Al made the selections in Oakland and he inherited a stacked team in Tampa. We all saw what happened when McKay left for Atlanta and Chucky and Bruce were making the personnel calls.
That said, he's NOT the answer here. Not even close by a long shot. Also to note, Gruden has never been a QB coach during his coaching career. (unless I've overlooked something) He was mostly a WR coach early on.
