Absolutely. Needs better coaching period

The next thread in this forum might as well be: Are Philadelphia Eagles fans, as a group, a disgrace to the rest of the NFL?

I would think it should be that simple but last week Darrell Green raised the leadership question. Sunday Sonny, and to a lesser extent Cooley, were calling for him to be sat down in favor of Cousins. Shanahan spent significant time in his presser yesterday talking about his 'growing pains', Need to Know: Shanahan speaks of ‘growing pains’ for RG3 | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins (http://realredskins.com/2013/11/19/need-to-know-shanahan-speaks-of-grown-pains-for-rg3/). Tracee Hamilton in today's Post (Washington Redskins are a tragic comedy on a loop - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/washington-redskins-are-a-tragic-comedy-on-a-loop/2013/11/18/1568735a-5066-11e3-9fe0-fd2ca728e67c_story.html)) says he's 'regressing before our eyes'. In the coaching thread, there are a couple of posters questioning him and saying he should be sat down for the rest of the year and start Cousins.

Personally, I think its a bunch of 'sky is falling' stuff but thought it may warrant some discussion.

All typical overreactions IMO.

He's a 2nd year QB coming off a major injury and he's still developing as a passer. People seriously need to pump the brakes.

I don't think "regressing" is accurate. Last year he was a one-read QB who threatened the defense with his legs. Teams didn't really catch on that he could only make one read, and they were seeing our pistol for the first time. Now after an offseason of reviewing tape, they see how it works. And with the knee he's just now getting back that ability to threaten defenses with his legs.

But because teams are taking away his first option, his weaknesses are being exposed. He's not regressing, but he hasn't made any progress. He needs a full healthy offseason to work on getting through progressions quickly.

Hopefully he is going the way of Cam Newton: dynamic rookie year followed by an ugly sophomore slump, then followed by year three brilliance.

What's so concerning about RG3 is he misses the easy routine throws/ reads that back up NFL QB's make in their sleep. He needs some serious coaching up this off season. The trade was a bad one IMO, that's water under the bridge... but I'm on the fence about him being a franchise QB.

He should've been benched last week. Nothing wrong with sitting a guy down but also letting him know he's the guy the remainder of the season.

Pretty much sums it up. His footwork is also god awful. The back peddle in the pocket has got to stop.

Wasn't last year Cam Newtons 2nd year? Cam threw for 3,869 yards, with 19 TD and 12 INTs. He rushed for 741 yards and 8 TDs and his team went 7-9.

Griffin through 10 games has thrown for 2,714 yards, with 14 TD and 10 INTs. He has rushed for 345 yards. Griffin is really on the same pace as Cam, and Cam was never coming back from a major knee injury. Griffin is playing worse than Luck and Wilson right now, but I would argue those teams have a better defense than the Redskins.

There are only a handful of guys I might take over RG3, but many of those guys are old and won't be around 3-4 years from now.

I would definitley take RG3 over Cam and Kaepernick.
