Kyle is ultimately responsible for putting together one of the weakest passing attacks the Redskins have seen in years (it looks even worse if you look at the last four years as a whole). No way around that. The passing game was his calling card when he came here.

But on the predictability discussion, I think we should be very careful not to vilify the guy for the way he has tried to handle this specific situation. The Redskins are pretty predictable. The Cowboys had a good film read on us in Week 5, the Broncos had a good film read on us in Week 7 and obviously the Eagles yesterday. But some of the predictability is not having players who are either smart or experienced enough to handle more being put on their plates.

The team's refusal to acquire players with the 'high football IQ' is a big reason they are stuck looking the same every week. There are really smart people on this team. Fletcher is really smart. Amerson and Hall are both pretty sharp. Jordan Reed. Griffin. But overall, the roster does seem to suffer from being a bit slow witted and over-emotional. And the coaches who aren't responsible for talent acquisition do have to work around this problem.

Either way, we didn't lose because the eagles knew our plays, we lost because of execution of those plays.

Not only the execution, but are we seriously running the same game plan game-to-game? Obviously we are enough so that the opposing team can figure out plays on the fly.

That's downright inexcusably awful coaching.

By the way, did anyone see Marc Trestman's explanation to the media of his (somewhat insignificant) decision to not use his timeouts against Baltimore at the end of the fourth quarter?

Trestman explains why he did not call time out during Ravens' drive at end of regulation - chicagotribune.com (http://t.co/Y2jCS4SDXo)

Speaking as someone who would have used the timeouts both prior to and after that explanation, all I can say is I wish we had that guy on our coaching staff. Would really do wonders for explaining all the nonsensical things our coaching staff does.

Note to Griffin - It didn't look like Philly knew what was coming when you overthrew Paulson by 10 yards on the first drive. That play was a GREAT call, and might have gone for a TD, but your throw wouldn't have hit the side of a barn. Acknowledge your recurring inaccuracy and your poor decision on the final INT before throwing the game plan (coaches) under the bus.

Yep that was an overthrow alright. RG3 doesn't throw until he sees somebody and he was awful. He is a bit nothing's wrong with me with his comments. His touchdown passes were even lucky at best.

Y! SPORTS (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/washington-redskins-struggles-run-deeper-rg3-161400242--nfl.html)

Pretty much sums it up...

Not sure why w run a 3-4 defense because Haslett is a 4-3 guy and D Ends having to play linebacker are fish out of water. Shanahan must be the 3-4 lover because Haslet is not.

He might have, but not for ten seconds and thats how far Griff overthrew him by. Lol. That was a bad pass, no way around it.

You got that right.

Griff's long distance accuracy is a bit worrying. I think I've said it before but anything 25+ yards is almost a crap shoot as to where it's going to go. Is it gonna be short? Long? Towards the sidelines? Into the stands?

He definitely has a cannon, but Jesus, with the accuracy... This didn't seem like a problem last year. He's gotta be pressing.

You are correct. Poor mechanics coming out of his rehab might be a factor, too.
