What do you guys make of this?

They'll work it out...the issues between the union and the owners don't seem too bad but issues between the owners is the big stumbling block. In the end the Dans and Jones' will end up giving up more money to prop up other teams since otherwise there will be no deal. No deal is worse than a tax since it means no money at all.

The world better hope Danny Boy doesn't have an uncapped 2007. We will have every free agent in the house.

This is headed down the path I thought it would. Danny and others are blocking a agreement on the additional revenues that some feel should be shared. So unless this changes expect the uncapped year to happen. This is how Danny has played it based ont he contracts he has gotten signed.

I don't blame Snyder or any other owners for trying to keep as much revenue as they can. The revenue sharing agreement already keeps teams like the Cardinals and Bengals (historically "cheap" teams) well in the black. Teams like Jacksonville rarely sell out their home games - yet they get an equal share of an enormous TV revenue deal. Why would Dan Snyder want to increase seating in his already large stadium if he will only be entitled to 1/32 of the profits gained by it?

Revenue sharing makes the NFL strong. However, the ability to create revenue outside the shared streams shouldn't be punished.

It seems counter intuitive to reward teams for doing little to promote and sell the product. Whatever you think of the Dan he is probably the best owner is professional sports right now as far as generating income for his team. Besides the Yankees(who sell themselves) no other team comes close to generating the revenue of the Skins and they don't even win! Imagine if they had been any good. They'd be worth 1.5 billion dollars I bet. I just have a major philosophical problem with propping up owners too much. I think it is better to make sure the owners who put a lot of effort into selling their team, and by extension the NFL, get erwarded for efforts.

AMEN! Why should you tell guys like SF's owner who came out and said he was only worried about the bottom line a reason to put out a team that he pays nearly nothing to and get the same amount as Snyder who puts a lot of work into making revenue for the team. This is how it should be!

The big market teams will have to give up some sort of % for the good of the leauge.

If it goes the way of the NHL I'll kill myself, it's bad enough with no Hockey. I'll lose the will to live if I have neither.
