I read in this mornig's paper that the 'Skins were going go after Springs as Champ's replacement. Any thoughts on that? Also, someone on this site described Springs earlier as a head-case. Why?

Good skills, bad injury history, I've never heard of him being a behavior problem though.

Good Skills, I still think we should take a legitamte look at A.Winfeild as well. He dosent make any extrodary plays or anything, but his tackling is cant miss, and hes always in positoin.

Springs has a lot of talent, but I sometimes question his toughness. Put it this way, Champ played through a lot of injuries, broken wrist, sprained ankle, etc. I don't think Springs would do the same

Good point, Smootsmack. Last year both our corners showed how tough they were, but were not gonna get anyone equal to Bailey in skills or toughness. The only guy I think that is possible for us to get that can match bailey, is McCalister, but theres no way we have the room for him, espacially as a RFA. So I'm saying Springs or Winfeild.

I like Winfield, seeing as he already knows Williams and he's a modest corner. He gets my vote!

Apparently Springs is a local kid from Maryland, I guess that is why the speculation is on him. I wouldn't mind pairing him with smoot, then drafting Taylor and signing Kearse....I am not sure if the salary cap would mind though? but if we get all those peices...watch out

Springs was a beast at corner in his prime, but he's gotten older... I dont mind getting him as long as we dont pay him alot. Hes a 2-3 year solution.

McAlister and Woodsen are franchised by their teams. Bailey looks like he is "spoken for". So the top "free" CBs on the market at the moment are Springs, Winfield and Vincent.

Since the supply just got smaller and the demand is about the same, the price for those three just went up. Even Congress can't repeal the law of supply and demand. Oh, and trust me; the agents for these players are VERY aware of the law of supply and demand...

Springs turned down a Seattle offer in training camp last year. I don't remember the entire deal but the signing bonus was $13 - 14M. He turned that down. Sound familiar...???
