(AP) — A student at a Nevada middle school opened fire on campus just before the starting bell Monday, wounding two boys and killing a staff member who was trying to protect other children, Sparks police said Monday. Will it ever stop? Not until we change our gun laws. Giantone 10-22-2013, 04:10 AM Not until we change our gun laws. I agree but others and the NRA disagree . mooby 10-22-2013, 05:57 AM I like how this story barely got any media attention because only two people died. When I first saw it last night it was already relegated to second page status on MSN. I guess since it's only 2 people dead it's apparently no big deal. mooby 10-22-2013, 07:52 AM Slain teacher hailed as 'fallen hero' after school shooting - U.S. News (http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/21/21064166-slain-teacher-hailed-as-fallen-hero-after-school-shooting) I can't imagine how tough that teacher must be to stand in front of a school shooter and ask him to put the gun down. RIP. NC_Skins 10-22-2013, 08:57 AM Not until we change our gun laws. It's not going to stop than either. As long as we continue to give these psychopaths media time, we are going to continue breeding these kinds of numb-nuts. firstdown 10-22-2013, 09:48 AM Not until we change our gun laws. Your correct. We need to arm our teachers. MTK 10-22-2013, 01:10 PM Yes, the answer to guns is always more guns. Chico23231 10-22-2013, 01:16 PM Father charged after 2-year-old fatally shoots herself - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/21/justice/north-carolina-toddler-shot/) In New Orleans, a 5-year-old girl died June 23 after she came "into contact with a .38-caliber revolver and accidentally shot herself in the head" while her mother was at a store, police said. The girl's mother was charged with cruelty to a juvenile until the 5-year-old died, at which point prosecutors added a second-degree murder charge. A judge in the case threw out the murder indictment last month, and the district attorney's office said it would appeal the decision, CNN affiliate WDSU reported. In August, a 3-year-old boy in Dundee, Michigan, found a .40-caliber handgun belonging to a family friend on a closet floor in his home. He died after accidentally shooting himself in the head, police said. The family friend was charged with careless discharge of a weapon, a misdemeanor. Less than two weeks ago, 2-year-old Michael Garcia Jr. was taken to a hospital after shooting himself in the legs with a .45-caliber handgun registered to his mother, according to CNN affiliate WFTV. The boy's injuries were not life-threatening, and the boy's father was charged with child neglect, the station reported. Id like to see a law on the books that gives a mandadory sentences for parents who dont secure firearms that wind up killing or injurying other in situations above. |
