Did he look anything like he did when he got burnt by Joey galloway in overtime to lose the game. I hated him when he was here and I detest him now that he is gone. And to think he always was asking to get the ball on offense when the sorry azz should of been worring about the defense. We are a better defense without him. And as far as the jersey thing the champ bailey shirt doesnt come in 3xl just his nfl licensed head band (big head bailey)...what an egotistical jerk!

I feel you guys. I hate chump too. Why can't he move on? He's getting paid very well to play like a #2 CB. What, 3 WRs had their career games last year against chump. Charles Johnson, Jerry Porter, and another guy thats slipping my memorie.

If you read some Bronco MBs, you'll soon see that most of their fans wished they hadn't made the trade.

i like portis though... he needs to step up to the press after bad games still, but he goes all out at least (throwing blocks for coles/brunell etc).

When champ was here, everyone outside DC seemed to like him a lot more than his own fans, seems the same thing is happening in denver. I really don't think he's worth the money he got either way.

Champ was never physical enough with the recievers right out of the gate. He would hang with them, and his instincts are great, and then go for the ball, or interfere with them "a little". But in the era of Pass Interference Mania, CB need to be physical in the first 5 yards, and then have the acceleration to cover up mistakes that everyone makes from time to time. I liked Champ's talent, dont get me wrong, but acceleration was not his game.

Face it. Teams use players - and former players solidly identified with the team - to help influence other free agent players to come play for them. Remember a year ago when everyone here was falling all over themselves to praise Darrel Green for his role in talking to Mark Brunell about how great it was to play for Joe Gibbs. Of course, that was before Brunell showed that his tank was empty, but no one knew that then...

Champ left town "unhappy". I suspect that Smoot is not "thrilled". Let's not even thik that L.Coles might have a nice word to say about Danny Boy. Anyone heard a good word from Brad Johnson or Stephen Davis recently about the Redskins organization? Most of the folks who leave town are less than fully satisfied with what went down here.

Meanwhile, the guys here picking up fat paychecks tend to be a bit more satisfied with their lot in life. Surprising? Not to me...

And under these circumstances, you find a reason to "hate" Champ Bailey?

I don't know where or how to pass my judgement on him. Maybe he is a true asshole trying his hardest to screw over an organization he no longer has a link to, OR he is just the most PUBLICIZED of all the people talking shit about the Redskins.

If he is the former, I would have good reason to hate him because I feel he should just get over it because he DOESN'T PLAY FOR THE REDSKINS ANYMORE. It's one thing to have some malice for your old team, but it is a completely different thing to keep on holding on to things that no longer affect you.

Bailey is and always has been overrated. He left on bad terms, so this does not surprise me. All teams will use current players to recruit new ones, and if one of them used to play for their competition, why not try to use that against them? It may not be nice, but it is business. And of course the media is going to play it up.
That said, yeah, Bailey is an ass.

Just to add to that. I think what bugs me about what Bailey allegedly said-if indeed he did-is why can't he just say good things about Denver? Instead of saying bad things about Washington. Is it more important to Champ that Courtney Brown join the Broncos, or that he not join the Skins?

You don't use that against them because you don't want your current or perspective employer to know you are like that. Any business in the world is going to be weary to hire shit-talking employees. No organization is flawless and with people who always have something negative to say, people may steer clear or such individuals.
