This passage from that article is pretty much all I needed to see to cement in my mind that Briles would flop at the pro level.

"We don't put too much pressure on quarterbacks to have to make reads and decipher defenses," said Kendal Briles, Baylor's passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. "We allow them to be comfortable and know where the ball should go in coverage instead of having to read a lot of things before a play. They're not having to read a lot of things on the run."

Art Briles said the less a quarterback has to think, the faster he can play.

"I think we're a little unique in that we do that," he said. "We try to ease the load on the quarterback. I've always felt like that guy has enough stuff going on without trying to slow him down. I'd rather free him up and let him play fast. He's got a lot on him already."

This also supports what John Keim has said repeatedly, that RG3 wasn't nearly as refined of a passer than some of his peers coming out of college who were in more 'pro-style' offenses and had to read pre-snap and post-snap coverages at the college level. He's clearly smart enough to get there and with a full offseason of reps and prep I'd anticipate a nice leap next year in his passing abilities, Briles would be a detriment to his development.

Sure he would flop if he took that same approach in the NFL. I would guess he's smarter than that.

A lot of this just comes down to coaching in college vs the pros. There's a lot of stuff you can get away with in college.

Lol. Him saying he doesn't use a playbook just means he doesn't have that big 100 page binder like traditional coaches use for players to memorize. Lolol

He doesn't draw plays in the sand haha

SS, what you think the chances Shanny returns next year? 50-50?

Eh, I'd say probably 35% chance he returns

Mike doesn't even look or sound like his heart is in it anymore, I'm not saying he isn't working his ass off I'm js I don't think he loves coaching as much

Losing isn't enjoyable for anyone.

I'm sure Shanahan and his assistants put in a ton of hours. I highly doubt they show up at 9am and are out by 5pm. I just find that really hard to believe. They're just not getting it done on gameday. But I will not doubt their work ethic.

Ritchie Petibone, while he was DC under Gibbs never slept in his office. Yet he was one of the best at his craft. To me it's quality time working, not the amount of hours you're at the facility.

Oh geez....you're still on the sleeping at the office bit? You do realize you're the one who actually mentioned sleeping at the office? Secondly, how do you know RP didn't spend long hours at Redskins Park? Oh...you don't know! Thirdly, you're comparing Joe Gibbs, the head coach, to Richie Petitbon, the defensive coordinator - you do realize that makes completely no sense? Fourthly...let's compare them both as head coaches. Ah yes....now you should start seeing my point.

So Smoot, you were mentioning the musical chairs that seems to be happening in the Front Office - do you not expect A.J. Smith to be considered as the general manager? Do you feel it's going to be someone completely different? Do you have your ideas who those candidates are for this job? Will it be more of a promotion within or an outsider deal?

From what I understand, Smith wants to remain a consultant bc he doesn't wanr to have to leave Cali.

Most likely a promotion from within
