SolidSnake84 10-16-2013, 08:13 PM Wow 5-7 yrs? I can't imagine any owner waiting that long to see results? At the same time there should be some noticable and consistent results during that span. Other than last years playoff berth (which is looking like an abberation) there hasn't been anything to make anyone think The Redskins are heading in the right direction.
It was really fascinating. Someone on here may know what the name of it was. I watched it for the first time in 2011, and it replayed like 4-6 months ago.
The owners did stay the course, for the most part. They said 5-7 years, but consider that 5-7 years was the total amount of time spent to where the team was successful every year, playoffs, etc... In that span of years they started seeing improvement.
I agree with you though, it looks more like last year's playoff run was luck and and easy schedule over real improvement / talent.... It seems that we are regressing and in general just in a bad way....

punch it in 10-16-2013, 10:21 PM But what if RG3 is never what he used to be, and the fact that we completley abandoned the Zone Read that RG3 excelled at. They are trying to make him into something he may not be able to be.
Is it a situation like with Jason Campbell where you don't bench him no matter what, even if a healthy and maybe capable Kirk Cousins is rotting on the bench? Put cousins in when they are mathematically eliminated. If the team all of a sudden comes alive maybe you have found the problem and Shanahan has some hope for 2014...
Cousins is such an x factor in all of this. I hope we are not hurting his trade value by not playing him when RG-3 is struggling. I mean going back to the Seattle game when Griff could barely walk, and now this year. If other teams believe he hasnt earned our trust to step in when needed, than why would they trade for him?
I find myself becoming very very curious to see what KC could do with this team. At the same time i desperately want Griff to keep improving until he is fully back. He looked great running with the ball last week, but boy he threw some bad balls. I have one more week of hope in the tank to turn this season around, and if Griff struggles I want to see KC. I think Shanny could avoid the whole qb controversy drama that would normally rear its ugly head by just admitting that maybe RG-3 wasnt coming along fast enough, and we arent giving up on the season.
Were living in yesterdays tomorrows.

If he admitted to anything that RG3 hasn't stated. It would just cause even more debate for the public and media. If you guys expect RG3 to come out and say "Oh, i'm not 100% so defenses should just expect me to give 75%" then that ludicrous.
KC could actually hurt is trade value by playing, and if you think he would escape the pressure that RG3 has been under easier then RG3 has.
Roberts hasn't been perfect by no means, but we know what his potential is. He's currently 23 games in to his NFL career at the age of 23. He's not Peyton Manning and never will be, but he could be something more for the Redskins.
I will never wrap my head around how easy it is for a fan base to dispose of someone so quickly.
Robert did everything he was asked and more to come back and play for a team he believed in week 1. He put his confidence in the coaching staff to allow him to play if he said he was ready. If Shanahan didn't play Robert week 1, then there would be even more "controversy" around the organization about something else.
Same people every year post the same things.. Then we win the NFC East they try to twist their conclusions.. Only to see us lose a few more games and bring back the same old shit.
Maybe some of you are just cheering for the wrong team?

Who the hell is disposing of anyone? RG-3 is 9 months removed from a major knee surgery. Im simply pointing out the fact that he may not be physically or mentally prepared to take the field. Im also pointing out the fact that we have a qb in KC that i believe can also play in this league, and if Griff isnt firing on all cylinders than lets see if Cousins can do better at this particular moment in time. I think i very clearly stated that Griff showed some major improvement last week with his legs and that i want badly to see him get back to where he was as a player. Im a Redskins fan and have been for 36 years. I dont really care who leads them to victory? The Redskins are bigger than any individual player currently on the roster or ever on any of our rosters.
You talk about people twisting their words, but you twisted mine into some rant about how i hate the redskins, and think griff is never going to be peyton manning so we should cut him???? Huh?
Lotus 10-16-2013, 11:52 PM Gryphon has been improving each week. And even All Day was out-of-sorts for the first six weeks last year (maybe he was too busy making babies). It was at this point last year when AP caught fire and the smart money is on Griff to do the same.
The Goat 10-16-2013, 11:54 PM Maybe the relationship between RG and both of the shanahans is broken. I've been surprised to hear RG and Kyle not seeing eye to eye because wasn't it Mikes decision whether Robert stays in the game against Seattle? How's the situation since then between Mike and RG? It would explain why the offense isn't clicking.

Around the same point last year that Peyton caught fire after coming back from the neck injury also.

No that is not correct. Robert did everything he said he would play week 1. Except he should have tempered his ego and waited until he was full strength and really that is what Shanny said the team wanted. So by that fault is placed. What type of guy rushes back from injury not once but twice to fail? What coach allows that to happen when a competent backup is ready? We could have lost the Seattle game and still be 1-4 with Kirk, but we also could have been better b/c a hurt Rob is NOT better than Kirk. Part of being a team player is trusting your team and being a part of the team. We ddnt get in the playoffs by anything other than Rob ruining at least the 2012 and 2013 season. Rob said, " you would have to carry me off the field before I'd leave" great, prophecy fullfilled on the most disappointing stage in decades.
If 2012,2013 seasons are wasted and no 2014 1st round pick, we need 1 shanahan sacrificed after this season. Which idiot shanahan scripts a wreck less game plan and for an encore creates the biggest pile of shit to expose every weakness said QB has week in and out? That's the Shanny that needs to be escorted off company grounds.
