Mechanix544 10-14-2013, 09:45 PM No, but I bet Snyder won't fire him till his 5 years are up. Hopefully we can be good next season. It seems like its always next season with this guy. Anyone now thinkin he rode to those SB victories on the backs of Elway? NC_Skins 10-14-2013, 10:01 PM The worst teams/franchises in league history have been turned around completely in just three years. Like?? NC_Skins 10-14-2013, 10:03 PM It seems like its always next season with this guy. Anyone now thinkin he rode to those SB victories on the backs of Elway? Name me another SB that Walsh won without Montana. Name me another SB that Bellichek won without Brady. SolidSnake84 10-14-2013, 10:08 PM TheGoat posted about franchises being turned around completely within 3 years. I know that it's happened but I can't think of the team. I've said it on here many times, I once watched a very interesting show on the NFL network, about the NFL's most winning teams, and they all had nearly the same amount of time that it took to put the team together. They said between 5 and 7 years to where a team was consistent and in the playoffs every year. I don't think Shanahan will get fired but I do see the scenario about mutually parting ways if they lose out this season. My prediction is between 2 and 4 wins this year...I think that record is bad enough to either warrant a firing or perhaps Shanahan just steps down... redskins5044 10-14-2013, 10:10 PM Name one team that turned around despite a $36 mil. cap penalty. Totally agree with this point, we couldn't do crap this offseason to improve the team from last year. Last years team won the divison, but IMO we weren't a very good team. This team still needs a lot of pieces to compete for a SB, remember this team was a wreck before he got here. Yeah you can say it looks like the same results, but I look at the young talent we have compared to the previous regimes. punch it in 10-14-2013, 10:10 PM Lets be realistic folks - he isnt the greatest coach in NFL history and he isnt the worst. He hasnt had a ton of success here or for a handful of years in Denver twards the end. He has done both good and bad here in four years imo, but he had a five year plan and I think the way Snyder has backed off since this regime took over speaks volumes about his job security for next year. If we get our cap money back, and have a completely healthy and more mature Griff at the helm next year we can be a solid team. If we shit the bed again next year I think Mike will walk away. If not than I think he rides a good thing. Hog1 10-14-2013, 10:13 PM Like?? Be patient, I think He and Sandtrap Jack are enjoying a moment..... They are trying to make him into something he may not be able to be. Is it a situation like with Jason Campbell where you don't bench him no matter what, even if a healthy and maybe capable Kirk Cousins is rotting on the bench? Put cousins in when they are mathematically eliminated. If the team all of a sudden comes alive maybe you have found the problem and Shanahan has some hope for 2014... GTripp0012 10-14-2013, 10:20 PM Like??The team that was basically in the exact same situation we were in when Shanahan took over was Seattle. Years of mismanagement, lacking talent, knowing the QB of the future wasn't on the roster, and both franchises made an ill-advised trade of a day 2 draft pick (or at least what would now be day 2) that returned no stability at the QB position. Seattle clearly did not need more than three years to completely change the position of their franchise in the NFL. They were down for two seasons. |
