Down here in TX, when the Cowboys lose and the Skins win its like a week long holiday for me.
skinsguy 09-30-2013, 10:00 AM Enough talkin' about the Giants (sorry Giantone! ;) )
Glad to see the 'skins win. They needed it, badly! Looks like the stars might be aligning for them. Possibly playing for the division lead in two weeks? Things are wide open in this sucky division.
Here are the guys I'm impressed with: Amerson, Orakpo, and of course, Kerrigan. On offense, Helu, Morris (before he left the game), Hankerson, and of course, Garcon.
Still very disappointed with our linebackers and the tackling. They made the Raider's third string running back look like a pro bowler.
Griffin struggled. The offense was pretty anemic until the later part of the second half. Things have to greatly improve if the 'skins expect to go into Dallas and beat the Cowboys in two weeks. Thank God for the bye week!
Chico23231 09-30-2013, 10:01 AM Season saving win.
Really good second half. I'm going to re-visit the first-second half splits at the bye week because they've continued through the fourth week.
Nice rebound for the defense. Matt Flynn is terrible. Raiders had to play without their starting QB, RB, and FB in the second half. But the game is often won in the trenches, and the Redskins DL really showed up and had a great game. Picked up Fletcher and Riley, who made a number of mistakes. Orakpo, Kerrigan, and Cofield continue to be our top defensive players. Today, they were enough.
Jackson and Jenkins back after the bye to bolster the front seven. It hasn't been pretty, but the defense will have a fighting shot now.
I think Griffin's season has been misunderstood to this point, but he really didn't throw the football very well at all today. Probably his second worst game as a pro QB after Pittsburgh last season. Not playing with a ton of confidence in the players around him. Arguably shouldn't be.
I dont see any misunderstanding, his numbers speak for themselves - overall very average and horribly poor in the first half of games. He is still a shell of himself.
These players he doesnt have confidence are the exact same ones he had last year...whats changed? Actually Garcon is more healthy. Did everyone get worse in year? If he lost confidence in anybody its the coaching staff, cause Kyle hasnt been very good at all this year.

Lotus 09-30-2013, 10:19 AM If we are going to replace Haslett, today is the day to do it. Do we replace Haslett or not?

Doubt it after the D had 7 sacks and only allowed 1 TD.

Replace Haslett. Our D has scored more TD's in the first half then our O after 4 games.
Monkeydad 09-30-2013, 10:46 AM If Dallas loses to Denver next week, our next game is for first place, as strange as that sounds. Huzzah!
There's no "if" there. Dallas has zero chance.
We beat Dallas in 2 weeks, we're on top of the division! (at 2-3...what!?)
And you people threw in the towel already! Only up from here. Defensive reinforcements coming, Griffin is going to come out looking much different in Week 6.

Eagles may beat the Giants to be there as well. But a tie at the top of the Division would be sweet considering the first 3 weeks of the season. Hopefully, RG3 can get right and the 2 weeks of preparation for Dallas give the Skins a big advantage.

RGIII is still recovering. It's simply going to take more time until he is his old self, physically.
Also, he's learning how to play QB in the NFL. There is a lot of learning that can only happen in games, over time. When he makes a "rookie" mistake, it is an opportunity for him to learn from it.
When he is fully recovered from his injury and has gained more experience, I think RGIII will become a great QB.
