SPORTS (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--the-greatest-kiddie-football-coach-in-history-is-a-familiar-face-002000202.html) Good to see Gibbs back coaching. Demoted to assistant...lol That's an awesome story...and look at their white Redskins helmets! http://l.yimg.com/os/publish-images/sports/2013-09-24/6efc7d86-307b-449e-ba5a-171dccabd44a_gibbs.jpg I hope Josh Gordon has another monster outing, I'm starting him this week. Me too. They're shopping him so I'm expecting it. Reported that the Lions have made an inquiry. With the recent re-structures, I wonder if we could afford him. We can give him a new contract at the end of the year when we are suddenly $18+ million under the cap. :D His contract sounds reasonable: 7/16/2012: Signed a four-year, $5.342 million contract. The deal contains $3.8 million guaranteed -- a $2.324 million signing bonus, Gordon's first two base salaries, and $380,000 of his third-year salary. 2013: $632,802, 2014: $825,604 (+ $50,000 workout bonus), 2015: $1,068,406 (+ $50,000 workout bonus) CrustyRedskin 09-25-2013, 12:18 PM Beagles vs Denver. Denver should tcb even on a short week. SFREDSKIN 09-25-2013, 09:39 PM I have a question, so Aldon Smith got his second DUI, the 49ers decided to send him to get some treatment and pay him while he is getting treatment. Since Smith is getting treatment will the NFL not suspend him now or can they still suspend them and screw the 49ers for being slick. Anyone know? Meanwhile Tanard Jackson waits and hopefully gets reinstated after the bye, we really could use him even if he hasn't played in over a year. Last I heard they put him on the reserve/retired list, which means they still have him under contract should he return to the NFL. 2) He says he wants to play for a contender, why would he play for us? Why wouldn't he? He would be an upgrade and instant starter on the secondary, I haven't written the skins off like some folks. CultBrennan59 09-26-2013, 12:15 AM Why wouldn't he? Look, if you're a pro bowler who has made millions in the NFL and has never been to a super bowl, who are you going to play for? The Redskins who are 0-3 and are on pace to have one of the leagues worst all time defenses, or a contender like, I don't know, Denver? Its pretty clear if you ask me. Sure months ago he probably did want to come here, but that was when he saw a team make a great run and make the playoffs. Not what he's watching now. Another argument that may come up to my post could be "Well maybe he knows he can upgrade and improve our defense." Well, sure maybe he can improve our defense, but the problem is, unless our defense gets 4 Winfields, our secondary is going to suck and our defense as a whole still can't tackle. Getting Winfield would be a minor upgrade, a 32nd ranked defense to a 29th ranked kind of upgrade at best; decent but still not good enough. No need for him unless someone gets hurt this weekend. If he just wants to occassinally play and all he cares about getting a ring those would the teams.
